| Is not afraid of anything! Our puppy bites everything. The baseboards, our desk, stuff in the garbage, socks, slippers. The thing is nothing scares him to stop. We say no, make loud noises, tap him on the butt, clap. Nothing. He will just stop, look at us, and go right back to it. What can we do to get him to stop? |

| Then he doesn't recognize you as the leader. I would get him some bully sticks to chew on and put a bunch of pennies in a tin can. Shake it and say "no" when he's doing something he isn't supposed to do. Take him away from the object of interest and help him become interested in chewing on something he can chew.

| You can't just say no and expect them to turn around and find a chew toy on their own. You should reward them immediately for stopping (when they look at you after you make a loud noise) and quickly find something they can chew on and get them away from whatever they were chewing in the first place. Soon enough they'll learn what to chew and what to leave!

| I will try that. But I think that he knows he should not do that, and does it anyways. |

| We have had really good sucess with ah-ah! No just didn't seem work with Jack. Now we get one ah out and he stops. We don't have much a chewing problem anymore because he always has a chew stick available. Hope this helps.

| And remember - no matter what distract tactic you use, the SECOND he stops to look at you reward him for stopping! That way he learns that NO (or whatever) means stop and look at me. THEN find him something else to chew. If you don't reward him when he stops, he'll never know what NO means because he thinks that stopping isn't what you want! Hope you've made some progress!

if you say "no silly puppy thats wrong" nothing is going to happen. if you take a deep, no nonsense tone, and just say "no" or even say "no" and clap or something (preferably some noise youve never done), he will stop. then you redirect with a chew toy. you can also spray stuff with bitter apple. | |
