| Pee Pad and Outside Hi Guys, Our Jackamo is really good with using her pee pad throughout the day when she has to pee. But she only poops at night. She still uses her pee pad but she'll go like 2-3 times when we're in bed and won't go during the day. I have been bringing her out twice a day wanting her to poop outside but she doesn't need to go. I've tried feeding her, playing with her, then bringing her outside.. but she doesn't have to go. I know its not a huge problem, but is there any way to manipulate when they go so she'll get used to going outside? Thanks in advance. |

| I'm not an expert on dog/puppy training...but my little 4 month old Penny is doing well on the potty training. I started off my allowing her to play and run. Whenever she tinkled I would praise her each and every time. Whenever she pooped I would praise her and give her a treat. I made such a stink about her going potty outside. She gets all excited as if to say,"Look mommy! I did it! I did it!" and she runs circles and jumps in excitement. She gets her tiny treat and is done. Again, we started off by playing. It's hard at times to note all the times that she goes because she tends to do it quickly and it seems as if my Penny is shy about going in front of me...so she squats behind the trees/bushes for her privacy. Perhaps that is what Jackamo is looking for. Either way...small treats go a long way and work wonders. Good Luck. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Really the only way to "adjust" her potty time would be to change the times she's being fed. Even then it's still likely she'll need to go before you get up in the morning. All of mine need to go out immediately in the AM and I mean before we do anything else. Once we get out of bed...they are up and need to go out. She may hear you stirring and that's when she's using her pads.

| Thanks for the responses. I'm planning on crating her throughout the night, but I'm scared to do it right now because she does wait to go to the washroom at night. So hopefully she will start going during the day when I bring her outside and having her in the crate at when she's sleeping which will make her hold it till day time. Thanks again. |
