| Is Triss on the right track with potty training? She is 12 weeks old. I have had her for 4 weeks. I have been crate training her. I take her out every 45 min - 1 hour when shes awake. -She knows what is expected of her when I take her out. -She pees on command or as soon as I take her out. -She goes 8 hours at night without whining to potty now. She used to wake up at 4am, but hasnt for a week. But -She will still just pee or poop when she feels like it in the kitchen. -She doesnt tell me yet she has to go. Do you think this is good progress? I wish I knew something to do that would make it just click for her, or will that just happen on its own over time?

| Mufasa is kinda at the same place. Whenever I take him outside and tell him "go potty" he will. He sleeps on my bed all night long and hasn't had any accidents. When he is inside he still has a few accidents but it's more so poo than pee. I'm guessing he goes poo at times when I'm gone. I'm not crate training but I think he's doing pretty good considering he's only 14 weeks old. I know he knows what "go potty" means because I can have him on my bed playing with him and out of the blue I'll say "you wanna go potty" and his ears perk up and he gets all excited. He will jump off my bed, run down the hall and immediately go to the door I always take him out of to pee/poo. I think that's pretty smart! I can't wait for him to be fully trained though but I know that it will take a while but I'm very happy with where we are at. I'm getting a belly band to maybe take care of the few pee accidents he has when I'm not home. |

| i think it sounds like she's on the right track. 12 weeks is still very young. when i first got kash, he was 9 weeks old. and in the first month, i can only remember 3 times that he jumped off the bed in the middle of the night and pottied on the floor. after that he started sleeping through the night. he's 7 months old now and i've had no accidents in the middle of the night. he only recently started scratching at the door to tell me he has to potty. so you might have a ways to go for that part. at first kash had free roam of the kitchen with ONE pee pad for him to potty on, but i realized after a few weeks of finding puddles of pee in different areas of the kitchen that he had too much space. so, i bought an ex-pen and put his crate, food/water, toys at one end and his pee pad at the other... he has not missed the pad since... and actually, in the last month, he has started to hold it all day until i get home to let him out. his pee pad has been clean/dry for awhile now. i leave in there anyway just incase. i'm still afraid that if i take it away, he'll start peeing on the floor. oh and one last thing... in the beginning i had to take Kash outside once every 45 minutes to an hour like you're doing. but now, he only goes once every 3 hours... sometimes i take him out too often and he won't pee... he'll just sniff around and i'll realize he just doesn't have to go yet! anyway, i think you're doing well. keep it up, and eventually, she'll just get it.
