| Wild Child help? I had a few friend over the other night. Bella is 5 months. She absolutly went crazy. She was from one lap to the other up in faces giving kisses. Now I don't mind this a bit but some people don't like it. How can I stop her from doing this? Can anyone help?

| Be very positive about it. You have a very sweet little social butterfly in your hands. You should be happy that she is happy and friendly instead of scared and barking at your friends, which is more annoying. What I do with mine is tell mine that are good little boys and girls and them tell them to "Sit" and "Stay" and when they do, I reward them with treats and praises. Sometimes I will get my friends to tell them to "Sit" and "Stay" and get them to reward my yorkies too. After awhile, they learn it is okay to get excited but as soon as they are told "Sit" and "Stay" they are rewarded(which also can be used to stop them from jumping on people that don't like it). |

| Thanks! She is a butterfly. If I take he in the pet store she has to go see everybody. The vet says she is the friendliest yorkie they ever met, and the groomer absolutly adores her. I'll give that a try.

| The best way to "lick" this (pun intended) is to recruit the help of your friends and family. Basically, you either re-create a party or whilst your real party is on-going, everyone will be required to not allow puppy on laps and to ignore puppy until puppy calms down. When the puppy calms down, and can sit calmly or at least with some semblance of calm, let people pet her, but only while she is on the floor. In other words, they have to bend down to pet her or get down to her level to pet her, but she will not be allowed on their laps or parts of their bodies. And if she starts acting up, all parties have to agree to ignore her. Eventually she will get the hint, that she gets no attention unless she behaves and has manners. You may want to assign a name to it like "settle" or "manners". But you will need cooperation from everyone for it to work and be effective for future occurances. (that's why practice makes perfect) |

| Maximus does the same thing....our trainer said that the way to make him stop this is ....when you come home put your keys down, your purse away, get changed and then come and greet you puppy (after they have calmed down)...show them that they are not your whole universe....YEAH RIGHT!!!!...but everyone that enters your house must do this and soon they will stop, I never tried this but this is what the trainer suggested to the parents in puppy kindergarten...

| they did a news report here (blurb really) that suggests you dont' make a fuss immediately when you leave and come home. it encourages separation anxiety. i have found that if i come in and put my stuff down, remove my shoes, and (he waits for this) check for any "oops!" on the carpet, THeN greet him, he is not so hyper. |
