| Here's a great game to play with your Yorkie I saw this on Animal Planet and deceided to give it a try. I am always looking for new things to teach Buddy so he does not get bored with our training. It's called "Find It". I took some of his kibble that was left behind from breakfast and hid two pieces of it while I made him sit. Not far from him so he could see me. I told him to "Find It'. He looked at me and I had to encourage him then he knew what I ment. He did find it and then we started again. This time I hid it a little farther. That was yesterday. This am I had him sit and hid the kibble in another room. I told him to Find It and off he went. He sniffed around and was very excited understanding there was food somewhere. LOL Took him a couple of minutes but he found it. He seemed to really enjoy the challange and we will continue and make it harder as we go. You can do this with food, treats or even a surpise toy from time to time. Try it your yorkie might enjoy it too. |

| Glad that I found the post. Sounds like a game that may give your furbaby a job in the police force. Just thinking of the future.

| I think that is how they train their pot/drug smelling K9dogs too. We have now advanced to two rooms away and he's having a ball finding the treat. He understands now "Find IT" and takes off like a bullet. It' so much fun to watch him. He really thinks he doing something wonderful. LOL I think I"ll start using a toy instead and see how he does. He knows his toys by their name so this should be interesting. |

I'm talking about in the house. I don't have a yard living in a condo so this is our only alternative. I am sure Jaxon's nose will point him in the right direction. It's really amazing how fast they pick up on things.

All of my babies know what "Find the toy" or if I tell them to find each other like I will be looking for Blaine he loves to nap under my couch and I will ask Sabrina or one of the other babies "where is blaine" they will sniff him out run up to me and try to get my attention either by barking (charlie's way of getting my attention), climbing on my leg (Sabrina's way of getting my attention), or doing circles in front of me (Lucy's way of getting my attention) once they have my attention they go to where blaine is and instead of going under the couch they all lay their chest on the ground with their tales straight up in the air and just look under the couch like "he's right there, I see him" it's too funny but they do enjoy finding their toys and each other.

LOL How smart are those babies of your's? That's adorable. What little blood hounds they are even pointing their tail in the air announcing they found their prey! LOL Thanks for telling that story. It's a cutie.

| We have advanced to the room farthest away. Bud sits in the living room in the stay position and I go to the other end of the condo and hide a treat in the bedroom. Then I go back into the LR and release him and tell him to Find IT. He runs like the wind now knowing there is something waiting for him somewhere. It's so much fun. He finds it evertime. |
