| Barking yorkie mutt I know I have to deal with barking when I get a dog, but I have a baby on the way. I don't like shock collars, don't think they are humane. But someone told me about a collar that alarms them when they bark. Do they work? Are they humane? |

| theyre ultra-sonic collars. SOMETIMES they work... all depending on the dog. theyre much mroe humane than shock collars. its basically jsut an annoying noise. have you tried anything else yet?

| that was one of the things that i was going to suggest. you also want to make sure that once they barking stops you try to get your dogs attention on something else (making them sit or lie down next to you is a good idea) then you can reward them with a toy or treat or just verbal praise. that way... your pup will start to figure out that when i want to bark if i come sit instead ill get rewarded.. if i bark i get the squirt bottle.
