| I Give Up!!!... I want to start crate training!! Piper is 4 months old now and has done so good with pottying outside. We normally had one poop and one pee accident a day. Well, this past week, all of a sudden, he's been pooping and peeing A LOT in the house . He gets taken outside but will still go on the carpet even if not much time has passed since he went out. I am getting frustrated because this came out of no where. He holds it all night while sleeping in the bed with us, so time isn't a factor. I think I'll resolve myself to crate training but I'm not 100% certain of the procedure. Can anybody offer advice or point me in the right direction. I don't know why his pottying behavior has changed but I need help! Thanks a bunch

| I dont crate train but I a lot of YT members do so they will be able to help you best. I just wanted to say that you should have your carpet clean professionaly, maybe she smells it and that is why she is peeing or pooping there lately. Good luck. |

| I crate trained Coco for like a month, and let me tell you . i didn't like it, but she is so great with her potty with maybe one accident a week or every couple of weeks at almost 5 months. I put her in her crate during the day, while I was at work. I know it sounds mean, but they are fine, and it's not forever. Just until she gets it. After a month, she was doing well, so she graduated to a very small hallway. And soon she will graduate to my large vanity area, if she continues to be so good. Keep her in a crate for like 2-4 hours and then when you take her out, put her on a pee pad right away. Confine her to her pad, with you sitting there. So she knows she's not going ANYWHERE until she goes. Use a command. I use "DO YOUR BUSINESS". I confined both of us in a bathroom where there is no where to run. She will catch on soon. Just praise the heck out of her when she goes where she is supposed to and let her out of the bathroom. That way she gets it, that when you take her there, if she goes potty, the fun will start.
