how big is his kennel? sometimes if it is too big they will find a place to eliminate and still be comfortable sleeping at the opposite end...ect.... Could you make the kennel smaller???? It only took one time for toby to poop in his crate at 12 weeks old, he hasnt done it since,.... where did you get him from??? if you got him from a pet store then taht is probably the only thing he has ever known......... patience is key in potty training especially with yorkies........ plenty of yorkies are still in the training process at 1 yr old, and others get it by 4 months... it just depends..... you coudl try experimenting with puppy pads...... you could stop his water intake before you go to work

peeing or dribbling? If it's only a spot, there's a good chance the reason you see it when you come home is that he's excited to have you back. Dutch does the same, but the problem is half as bad at 6 months as it was a 3 months. The vet says he should get over it and it isn't really a problem unless a bit of time passes and it doesn't improve. It's unintentional, so scolding him when he has not committed any discernable wrong will only encourage him to become submissive, which may very well lead to increased dribbling. So try to ignore it. If it's a full-on pee rather than an excited dribble, it's a different (but common) story that will require possibly shrinking the size of his confinement but more likely taking him out more often and above all time.

http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...=1121471743566 this is a dividing pannel for crates....... it sounds like he is still trying to get used to the routine too, making his crate smaller shoudl help with the problem.... some people lock their babies in a small encloased area complete with puppy pads so that they can go potty freely whenever they want to, but it sounds like you want him to pee outside, so iw ould suggest making the crate smaller and limiting the amount of food and water he has before he gets put in teh crate for the day

You really can't expect him to make it from 7:30 in the morning until 5:00pm without having to pee. I know I have to pee quite a few times myself in 9 1/2 hrs. It would be better if you can arrange an area with a space for litter, play, sleep and food. A gated kitchen or laundry room or an ex-pen would be suitable and scolding him for messes he made while you were gone serves no purpose other than to confuse him.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | does anyone else here realize that this poor dog is in a crate 17 1/4 hours a day? maybe someone that has more time to spend with him should have him? that seems cruel to me.
