| Make the barking stop.... Star barks at our boxer.. she HATES him. i've tried all i can think of to get her to stop..but saying NO is not cutting it.. it doesn't even phase her. Anyone have any ideas to get her to stop barking at him??? He's so sweet to her and tries to give her kisses but she won't have it!

| Maybe a spray bottle of water...or a can with pennies in it that you could shake at her. Good luck.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I have tried the pennies in a can....and while it got Sailor to stop barking, Magic thought it was something to bark at....so I gave that idea up. Barking is a problem at my house......as mine bark at the birds and cats in the yard and all the many kids & bikes....and also cars.....I would love to know if you find something that works! At this time...if ours start barking, we tell them "go outside to bark"....and most of the time they do. (I know - we are making our neighbors suffer also!) Captain, my silky, barks at the tv.....and that one I have worked with him enough on that he is improved.....but I had to show him that I was alpha and correct him everytime before that stopped. (This actually got dangerous as he would charge tv and could have hurt himself...not to mention is was annoying.)

| barking while taking a walk My mom and I would take our dogs Sweetie and Kobe out on walks to the park at 5:30am they would bark most of the time at anything a leaf or a person jogging. We were constantly telling people sorry. Sweetie would stop barking when I hit paper against my hand.. Kobe stopped when my mom tried the water bottle. It didnt work for long... I think I might try the coins. I would really love for them to enjoy our walks

| Someone on here suggested getting a whistle and blow it every time your dog starts barking. Also I've heard that clicker training works well. Do a search on here for "clicker training" and should bring up threads that will explain what it is and how to do it. |

| I've had difficulty with Woody myself.. he seems to bark mostly at sounds he doesn't recognize, the TV at times.. but the worst is when we come home. He recognizes our garage door opening and even our car sounds and knows when we (vs. our neighbors) are home and he barks away like mad. Would love to get him to stop that. |

| Pennies in a can worked wonders on Xavier's barking habits...it was a miracle! lol. He NEVER barks anymore unless we are just playing around with him
