| Is he being Dominant? My Yorkie Scamp attacked my 7 yr old daughter she was just sitting on the bed petting him when out of nowhere he attacked her biting into her face, she was all bloody ... I took him & put him in a kennel.. Mikayla is terrified of him now! I was told he is being the Dominant one & she has to show him who is the boss..But she wont go near him poor wee thing is absulutly terrified! |

| Scamp is 2 yrs old & no noone hurt him I was right there just watching her pet him, Mikayla is a very gentle wee girl she gets upset if I go to kill a Spider she loves all creatures of the world. . Scamp hides when a child comes to our house... He even attacked a wee girl when I took him to the park, she went to pat him & he attacked her also.. My friend said hes prob trying to be the "Boss" cos hes a Male she said Males like to be the dominant ones...& we should show them who is the "Boss".. She said her Wheaton Terrier was the same way with her Daughter & she got her Daughter to pin her dog to the floor & look straight in its eyes until they look away Mikayla wont go near Scamp now!!!! |

| You need a personal trainer to work with him if he has attacked children twice. Without that its probably going to get worse before it gets better. Best of luck

| Then is sounds like Scamp needs some training on who is the boss. I have had several occurences with Buddy trying to be ALpha. Until I understood what was happening with him I really thought he was going to be aggressive and was so nervous I started searching for answers. Some Yorkies are just dominent and need to learn their place in the household. Makala has every right to be frightened, I was when Buddy came after me but did not bite me. You need to become the Alpha. He needs to respect you as leader so he can relax and take his place. Start with feeding. Make him sit before feeding, if you giving him a treat make him sit. Let Makala do this also. He needs to see her above himself. Do not let him up on the bed any longer! He needs to sit on the floor. The bed is for her and belongs to her. It's amazing how smart they are. Don't punish, he just needs to learn your the boss. Explain to Makala what has happened so she will understand and once again relax when he's around. Do everything with her until she becomes comfortable once again. Everything you do for him, play, feed, walk(go out the door first) etc you have to show him you control every thing he gets. It will work. Good luck. Give Makala a hug from us. Buddy is wonderful today but we had our moments. |

| I'm so sorry she was bit I have to say though some times the little ones do things when we are not looking, and that could be the case although I have read it said before that it could be from not proper socialization in the home life. If he is always with you other family members are not as involved with his day to day life they don't play with him all these things were said to make the dog think of the main care giver as his pack and he will become aggressive toward others in the home No matter the age of the children you must let them be a part of the play and care just take more time to supervise. My boy is going through the same thing and Yuri is almost 2 so I think the theory has merit (Yuri is with me 99% of the time my boys don't seek him out they have their friends and such. we are working on that now and the changes seen in a week are worth giving it a try(yep even your little girl) good luck I am so glad she is ok give the sweetie a kiss for me and tell her she can do it(she is the leader)and you will protect her.
