| I don't know what i should do Layla and I are supposed to start advanced obedience at Petsmart on Saturday... but i'm not sure if i want to go... Layla HATES being in that square little room with other dogs... and after the dog being mauled at the petsmart... i get so nervous in there... maybe i should just cancel... i'm getting so upset just thinking about going.... and when we go in there she shakes... but then i think.. just because she is scared doesn't mean i should quit... she should be exposed to things that scare her right.. because they she won't be scared anymore??? oh i'm such a mess about this..... |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | You could wait for the next session so you can have more time to think about it. Bengi & I did the puppy class and he was alright there, but got tired after 15 min and was always looking at the door wanting to leave. I wanted to do the next class but hubby didn't want to go and I didn't want to go by myself. Beng is scared of big dogs, but it's always good to try to make them face their fears gradually. |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Izzy has been to 3 training classes (but not at Petsmart). She attended Puppy I, Puppy II and Canine Good Citizen. The first set of classes she was a little scared but the more we went I could see the more relaxed she got. By CGC class she knew the training place and would get so excited when we pulled into the driveway. But then again each class that we were in had no more than 5-6 puppies in it. As always Izzy was always the smallest...the rest were big doggies but she got used to them and they her...good socialization. In the end - it's up to you since you know Layla best. Good luck.
