| Modest Yorkie? Ok, my little Cookie is nearly 1 year old. She was 100% potty trained at one time but has regressed since then. She always pees outside but rarely poops outside. We can tell when she has to poop, we take her out and she doesn't go. 5 minutes later she poops inside! And she knows it's wrong because she hides from us before we even find it. We've even locked her in the same room with us when we can tell she has to go and won't go outside. She holds it (as if she doesn't want us to watch her). Then the split second we take our eye off her she poops! What's the deal? Do we have a modest dog? This has been going on for probably 2 months. Any suggestions would help us out a ton! |

| Try walking her when you know she has to go. They can't normally hold it to walk. HTH

| We have the same problem with Bentley. He used to poop outside, as well as pee, but in the past month or so, all he will do outside is pee. I always try and wait about 15 minutes or so, after he has eaten before taking him out, so I'm pretty sure he needs to go then. But he won't poop, but as soon as I take him back in the house and turn my back on him, there he goes on the paper!! This past weekend, we've been trying to work with him more on the pooping outside. I know one evening, I stayed outside with him for 30 minutes. Soon as we came back in, he started to squat! I called out his name, and he stopped, so I picked him up and took him outside. It took about 10 minutes, but I think he realized that I wasn't going back in this time til he did something. And the next day, he pooped outside again!! YEAH!! Maybe this is progress, cause he's not pooping during the night now. His paper has been clean/dry in the mornings!! |

| Hefner is very modest and always hide to poop! I have put his pads in his favorite corners where he is out of sight. I rarely see him poop. |

| Take her out on a leash to potty, when you know it's her time. Give her a treat when you go back inside. Have your carpet professionally cleaned, to remove any scent. Last thing--DO NOT take you eye off her.

| We just cleaned our carpets this weekend and she's already dirtied them up! We have that Nature's Miracle that gets rid of the scent as well. She has her favorite spots to go in the house but if we're anywhere near, she'll pick a new spot. We always give her treats when she goes potty outside. Also, what's the procedure when they go inside? We've tried containing her with the poop with gates since I've heard that works. I know she hates when we do that but she still continues to go inside. Does anyone have suggestions for the procedure after the accident has occurred? |
