| Free feeding is where you leave food and water available at all times.

| This is just my personal opinion... I don't believe in feeding at certain times, especially with a puppy. I leave food available at all times. Their stomachs are just too small. They need to eat frequently. It's possible that he's just too hungry when you give him his food so he gulps it down.

| we can't leave food out.. because we have another yorkie we used to do that for.. and my baby just eats all his food.. and drinks all his water.. i don't think he's really that hungry though.. i feed him multiple times a day.. and he gets treats too.. personally i think when he was born.. that's how he had to eat with him brothers and sisters when he was with the breeder.. and he had to fight for his food.. maybe i'm wrong? |

| I can't make an assumption about what happened while he was with the breeder. He may eat all the food for a while. Until he realizes that it's not going to go anywhere. And like I said, this is just my opinion. My puppies have food available 24/7 from the minute they are born. They never have to fight over food or water. So they just eat what they want, when they want. How old is your puppy?

| I have always had food down for Murfee at all times. When he was really little I used to had feed him a piece at a time...not that he's spoiled or anything....but it worked.

| My 7 mo. old rescue Pommie inhales his food. I purchased a Brake Fast bowl for him. There are different brands out there that accomplish the same thing. It has slowed him down some, but he still wolfs his kibbles down. i can't free feed either because of my older dogs that are supposed to be losing about 1/2 lb. Good luck. |
