| We are halfway there...Now we just need the poop! Poop training... Ok, we live in Minnesota and today it snowed with a wind chill of 22. Obviously, I don't want to go stand out in the blizzards at -30 to let Uno go to the bathroom. I set up some potty pads in the garage (about a week ago), and he will pee on them (after two horribly stubborn days he finally did it!) so peeing isn't a problem in the garage. HOWEVER........he refuses to poop on the pad in the garage. He pulls from the pad, will NOT do it. I tried taking some poop from the yard (where he normally goes) and putting it on the pads in the garage so he knows he can poop there. Well, no luck. I don't get it....he will poop inside (naughty boy), outside... but not inbetween in the garage!!! Has anyone done this before and HOW did they produce some poo.... |

| I have the same problem. Lana will pee just fine but she poos NEXT to the pad. I just keep my fingers crossed she doesn't move further from the pad next time. |

| I would be grateful if Uno even pood NEXT to the pad in the garage! But nope. He fought me this morning too, and of course I open the garage door. Moment he sets paw on grass = poo. Argh! I probably shouldn't give in and open the garage door, but then i'm afraid he'll quit pooping altogether! And I don't have hours on end to wait for it.... |

| I always train mine to go outside, so I can't help you, but I wouldn't want to go out in that cold. I'm in Florida and 60 is freezing to us. LOL

| Persistance, persistance, persistance my dear.... I tell you no lie when I say Meka was the same way... she acted like she just couldnt poop on the same pad as her pee... and we started pad training at 9 wks when we got her. Now she's 8 mos and we've had total success for about 2 to 3 mo's. She has her own room area and I only put out one pad at a time... and shes flawless (expect for when she's tryna get attention) but hey I also have a spray that I put on the pad... Its suppose to help them know where to go. Found it at Petsmart..

today it was the BEST feeling ever- I was playing with Uno, and I was doing something on the computer...I went to the entry where I put a "caution" potty pad down, and he peed on it twice today!!! I can't tell you what a great feeling it is when you teach your yorkie something and they actually do it....proud mama'

| This is how I do it for my new puppy. I have an x-pen (shape as a rectangle), and I have a puppy pad on the other end, while their bed is on the other side. I use the washable puppy pads cause my puppy likes to destroy the disposable one. And she seems to understand to always go to the puppy pad side everytime she is in the pen. Its only when she is outside the pen that I need to work on. But sometimes I would place a pad outside and sometimes, I will get lucky and she will go on the outside pad as well. She is still learning! I also take her out each time I come home or when I am at home and say go pee, and she pees outside and I reward her. BUT! her bladder holds a lot of pee so sometimes she would pee inside even though she just pee-d outside. But I have not have much accidents now (knock on wood!). Oh, I also use a mat under the pen so that its much easier to clean if there is an accident of missing the pad! By the if the pad has too much pee spot you need to change it otherwise they won't pee on the pad anymore or poo for that matter! |

| My Jazzie will absolutely NOT poo and pee in the same area. She has two potty stations. She will pee on the piddle pad ONLY if it's in a litter pan and will ONLY poo on a piddle pad clear accross the room in a hidden corner and the pad has to be flat on the floor - I don't get it but that's the only way she goes. Once I figured it out, she was crowned 100% potty trained! Maybe your little man might like two potty stations too? Good luck to you!

I waited a little bit longer to take him out today, so he probably reeeally had to go and he did it! Poo on the pad. But as soon as it dropped he wanted out of there like a bat outta' hell. And as a plus, he's been cuddly and sweet all morning...no nipping! Oh how I love my dog
