Default Dog friendly Cruises

Hi YTers! I have a question. I am planning on surprising my boyfriend for his 30th b-day next year and I don't want to leave my dog with family or friends or a kennel for 5 days... I did a seach for pet-friendly cruises but I think I only found one which was in Maryland.

So I was wondering if any of you fellow YTers have taken your furbabies on a cuise? I live in Northern California...

HELP! I really want to take Dunks along!

Thanks!

you know... a cruise ship should become pet friendly... nothing over like 20 lbs... have a small area of grass.. places to walk them... a doggie day care... they would make a killing... if one line was just smart enough... and not even the whole line has to be petfriendly, just like ONE ship.... i say we write Carnival... they let kids on... kids make a bigger mess than kids....

I wrote to Holland America and asked if they had dog-friendly cruises and they simply said, "NO" .... I was heartbroken ...

what cruise line sails out of MD and allows dogs? Where does it sail to?

My husband and I love cruising! But the only ship that will allow pups is the Queen Mary. And I don't have that kind of money!

So what do you do when you and your husband goes on cruises? My vet offers a doggie hotel for a very reasonable price, but it's just that I am going to miss him too much and worry about him!!

If Yorkies get car sick...I bet they get sea sick. Can you imagine all the dog vomit up and down the hallways!!!!!

I went on a cruise once and was sick all 7 days. I thought about swimming home a couple of times

seems the only cruise ship that allows pets is the QE2 and they do not allow the dogs in the stateroom ... **sniffle**

My dad lives with us and we have 4 kids who live close by. So we are really blessed that we don't have to kennel them.

i searched for dog friendly cruises and they really do not exist. maybe some ferries or tour boats sprinkled here and there throughout the usa. it's a shame because i enjoy cruising and rarely endulge because i can't bear to be without my york. he's part of the family and deserves a vacation too. it would be wonderful if enough people could get together and charter a cruise ship for people with small companion dogs. my york adores being on boats. he's so happy with the sea air blowing through his hair. he luvs to take rides on the family boat.
