| Need help finding a toy I am having a problem with my Yorkie, I can't find a toy he like. Well I have tried everything rattle toys, squeaker toys, even flavored bone and kongs filled with treats or peanut butter. All this and nothing holds my 6 month yorkie's attention. some toys he'll chew on for a minute or so then just walk away from them and others he smells and licks and thats it. I must have 20 different toys for him and he will not play with any of them. Is this a normal thing with Yorkies? what should I do? or is this even a problem? |

| Have you tried bully sticks for chews? Have you tried simply an old athletic sock with a knot tied in the middle, or perhaps a rope toy? When you offer your Yorkie toys, do you play with him with the toy or just toss the toy out there and let him do what he wants? I find Gracie is much more interested in playing with toys solo if played with them with her first. Like her squeaky stuffed toys, I throw them and she retrieves them. It might just be that your Yorkie is not a toy kid. No problem with that as long as he does not find inappropriate things in your house to destroy. At Petsmart, I found some toys called PetStages. They have something for every age dog. Gracie really likes those.

She also loves bully sticks and flossies to chew on, and this one type of booda bone. here is bobo - http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2026207&Ne=2 here is the booda bone she likes - http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...294966636&Ne=2 those are her two favorites. OH and cat toys are a big hit as well. anything from this store http://www.cattoys.com/fatcattoys.html any of the cracklers or crunchy catchables. she likes the noise. these use to be my cats toys until morgan showed up. i think she likes them more.

| When you give your Yorkie a new toy, first get him/her really excited about the toy. Make your baby believe that this new toy is the GREATEST thing on earth. Get down on the floor and play with it BEFORE you hand it over. Personal favorites for my furkids are bullysticks and the Tiny Dr. Noys Material Dog squeaky toys. |

| Shelby & Seymour always liked to play with the empty paper towel & Tp rolls when they were little.... I think it was because they were so lightweight ( I would watch them and if the cardboard started coming apart... then I would have to take it away). They don't get as excited about them anymore. (Now they prefer to go on adventures instead of playing with toys) |

| My Gidget will be 2 years old in February and she just started liking toys about 4 months ago. Her favorite is the Bobo.

| I second the sock idea! All four of my dogs will take a sock over a store-bought toy in a minute. Course with the sock comes the promise of a tug-of-war! I just tie a knot in the middle of the sock to try to differentiate from the good socks. LOL! We have toys all over the house. They like to play with them best when I am putting them away. If yours is not ready for playing with toys -- don't worry. Some just are not all that facinated by a squeaky piece of rubber or stuffed animal. If your little one will play with you and romp around a little -- that is just as good. You will be able to tell if they are happy or not.

| My 4mo. old Daisy LOVES toys... I think they are all her favorite....but her MOST favorite thing to chew and bat around is the caps from the toilet ...you know, the cap cover thingys that cover the bolt at the base of the toilet to hold it down... she has 2 from the bathroom she uses and they are just about shredded now. I agree with the other posters who say to introduce the toy in a playful - this is the best thing in the world way.... Daisy also loves me to play tug-of-war with her. Daisy's Mommie |

| If you really want to watch your baby have fun, leave a box of Kleenex somewhere she can get into it!! Or leave a trail of toilet paper hanging off the roll just high (or low) enough for her to be able to pull it the rest of the way off the roll!! There's always the eye glasses left on the coffee table too. Believe me, when she figures out that she wants to play with something....she will!!

| It isn't really a toy, more of a treat, but try the Everlasting Treat Ball. I think it is the best thing invented. Keeps all 3 of my dogs busy for hours. Do a google search and you will find it.

| I have to say the bully stick is the best thing i've bought Dobby. I know what they're made of is gross- but it's the only bone he'll chew on. I got him one yesterday, and he would have chewed on it all day long, non-stop, if i would have let him. I loves that thing! Every other bone he'll use for about 1 minute, then walk away. I was concerned about getting him a good bone, so his baby teeth will fall out... and I finally found something that works!

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | The only thing Jaxon played with until about 3 months ago was his Ty Beanie Baby-Yapper. We found a little squeeky pig on HandsnPaws that he loves! We were so excited since we have tried all kinds of toys & no luck! He doesn't even like the BoBo's that everybody says are great. The Beanie baby is like his pacifier-he will suck on the tail until he falls asleep. The only treats he likes are Chicken Jerky, Bully Spiral Things & the dried Pork Heart-Gross!! Oh-Jaxon is 2 1/2 years old.
