| Chew Snacks / Toy Hey guys, I wonder what kind of snacks do you give to your babies? I usually give these chew toys formed like bonesmade of chicken in the middle or others such as livers or intestinal parts so at least he chews something. He's very lazy on chewing his kibbles. So often, I have to soften them, add wet food, or give other chewing practice for his teeth

| He's honestly crazy for these bones snack. Everytime I give him that, he treats it as if they were alive and attack it actively while also moving his tail, so cute )

| I will try to find them here then, thanks for the suggestion. I'm just trying to give him things to chew as the vets and many websites said that yorkies usually hv dental problems if they are not taken care well :-s

| I guess I'm just a stick in the mud...I never give our dogs anything even closely resembling rawhide (I could be mistaken on what these are made of) because I hate having to clean the mess that remains in their mustaches and beards. LOL

| can i be a bad guy here and suggest you not feed those treats...are they rawhide? it is common for smaller breeds to not be able to digest any raw hide they can cause blockages. also no treats made in china..please if you google you will see many dogs have died from many brands of jerky treats....etc, wagon train, dingo, dream bones....etc. dentals are common in smaller breeds but from what ive learned on yt its not always avoidable with chews. heredity plays a part in it also. i just wouldnt want anything bad to ever happen to your baby from treats. i am so picky now we do mostly veggies and fruits (no onions, spices, grapes or raisins) and yorkie yummies ...wellness beef treats and that is it. not being judgemental just trying to spread the awareness incase you werent aware.

| I would agree with nothing raw. Mine, the bone snacks are made of chicken or the intestinal part of animals. It's not to be totally finished. Usually when it's destroyed and the meat part in the centre is gone, he'd stop chewing that. In the past I would give him like once every three days. But now I no longer use the trainer for his food, I changed to royal canin the last 12 days and he eats better, even without anything wet, he would just chew the kibbles hahahaha. What a miracle. So for the chewing toys, I even give it more rarely, like every 5 days or once a week, to entertain him from playing with it. So royal canin said it right when it said it could fix fussy appetite

| Quote: Those treats all have lots of artificial ingrediants. The Waggin ones were part of one of the largest dog food recalls in the US. Linked to kidney failure in dogs: DogAware.com: Recalls that Affect Dogs Are you guys familiar with the dog food project? It's a GREAT website and resource. The Dog Food Project - How does your Dog Food Brand compare? Another great website to take a look at for information on what's healthy and best for your dog is the Whole Dog Journal. It's sort of like a consumer's reports of dog stuff! Whole Dog Journal They do an annual review of dog foods too which is really helpful | |
