| My morkie is a hoarder.. Hi Everyone! So My morkie, Weezy, is 1 year old and he is the worlds biggest hoarder. As soon as he gets a new bone or rawhide the first thing he does is find a safe hiding place for it. I am forever finding raw hides, bones, toys, and whatever else he can get his little paws in buried in my couch cushions or hidden all around the house. I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. He is my only pet and I have had him since he was a puppy so I just find it funny that he finds the need to hide his stuff so no one can find it. |

| I have a Yorkie and a morkie. I must confess that my morkie is also a hoarder!!! Not only does Cooper hide things so Max can't get them, he also puts as much stuff in his mouth as possible because he has to have everything. I've caught him once with a rubber ball, a squeaky ball and a bone all in his mouth at one time!

| I wonder if it may be a maltese trait? I think its so funny but when he's around my sisters yorkie he tends to bully and take all the toys and either hide them or lay on them so noone else can have them. Luckily my sisters yorkie doesn't care much for toys and usually ignores it. |

| Hoarding Morkie LOL...must be a trait! My Riesee does the same thing. It is a ritual every morning during coffee, again in my office, and as soon as we return from work! Very diligent about the whole process! |

| This thread is so funny, and I can totally relate. Two of my Morkies, (Meika and Kayla) also hoard and hide things, especially bones, nylabones, rocks sea shells and hard things, usually under sofa pillows and between cushions. My other Morkie Karlee doesn't do it so much, and my Yorkie Tiki doesn't do it at all. Also, all 3 of my Morkies are real "foodies", and my Yorkie is not at all. I wonder if this is also a sort of Maltese trait. Does anyone else see this? My Morkies are all getting lower calorie food now and green beans for treats.

YT 1000 Club Member | My two are Brother/Sister, but, two years apart. I don't know if they "realize" that, or, that when I got Becca, Sneakers thought she was his puppy (and may still) after two years. Anyway, it's just unbelievable how polite these two are ! I have food available 24/7 and they eat at about 4am and 4pm, plus a few little snacks along the way. One will take a piece, move aside, chew while the other steps up and takes a bite for it's self. It's just back and forth, each stepping back and letting the other have access. Then, when I deal out two Bully Sticks or a "lasting" treat, after a while, Sneakers will step away from it, and Becca will drop hers, and go start chewing on his, while Sneakers takes hers. I think He knows she can't bite as hard as he can, and he sorta softens the Bully up for her.... JUST AMAZING ! Then on the "stashing"... I find a treat now and then sorta out of place (I have Throw Rugs for them to eat bones and treats on) and they usually comply pretty well in leaving treats and bones on the Rugs. They seem unconcerned that they are available for the other when left there. I have found a treat or two stashed, but, it appeared that it had been there a long time, and I'm unsure which one put it there. I have a theory about this "politeness" ( however I have been accused of "over-thinking" things at times ) I permit/encourage a very "Pack" orientated situation with my Dogs. That which I sorta "stand back' from (a bit hard to explain) I think of myself as Pack Leader, but, encourage Sneakers to be the Pack Alpha. Sneakers was the first Dog and is biggest. He gets greeted, petted and fed (when handing out treats)...First. Then Becca gets it too, but only after Sneakers is "honored" by his position. This is just my way of "reinforcing" the Pack mentality with them. Now, on their own... After "alarming" to an intrusion onto the property, Sneakers takes the lead in them charging out to confront. When we go out "hunting" along the Bayou, Sneakers is in the Point Position, and Becca follows him, and I follow them. (they're on retractable leash's, so, I can exercise control of them when necessary...though infrequently needed) This "Pecking Order" is absolute...save for one issue. It didn't take Becca over two minutes after She arrived, to understand that this was Her home/territory! She is just as aggressive with confrontation/protection of it as is Sneakers, pounces on Frogs and Snakes when they find them, follows Sneakers when he jumps in the Bayou after something... BUT When it comes to Toys... ALL of them are Hers ! Sneakers is ok with this, and, I mind my own business. That is the only time/issue where any "possession" is evident, and is the first sign to her "other side". It may appear that Becca is some laid back subordinate, but that is not the case. She IS a Warrior ! She is brave, bold, confident, persistent, and has a temper which I have never seen exceeded in any animal I've ever owned. She willingly puts herself between Me and whatever (perceived) threat we encounter, and no physical size offender, is beyond her wrath. Sorry to carry on like this but, I think I'm the luckiest human in this world having two animals like I have.

| My yorkie Geno is a HUGE hoarder. I packed up a few of his old toys in his little plush dog house and told him that those are going to go to the humane society for dogs in need. I couldn't take them though until June because that is when my county's humane society is opening so they have been sitting in Geno's dog house......or at least SHOULD have been sitting in Geno's dog house. He took the liberty of taking out all those toys that he NEVER EVER plays with anymore and now he plays with them. Silly dog needs to learn to give to the needy and not be so greedy lol

| My yorkie doesn't hide stuff. He just drags stuff all over the house. We did have a dashound that would get into the garbage sometimes and get stuff out and hide it. One day we came home and I went and got on the couch and noticed that he had hidden an old biscuit from the garbage in the couch. Lol. He would hide stuff all the time.
