| Greenies I read about them all the time on this site and on the back of the bags at the pet stores, but I am still confused. For whatever reason, I am under the impression that they are used as a sort-of sedative for the dogs (making them calmer than normal) and that they clean their teeth. Why do you and your pup like Greenies? Am I way off in my impressions?

| I have not personaly heard anything about the greenies calming dogs down. I would have to say they have just the opposite affect on my dogs, they go crazy for greenies. I try and ration then out, only a couple a week, because they are so exspensive. But when my dogs see me getting that bag out, they go wild. I really have not noticed any change in their teeth or their breath, maybe because I don't give them one everyday, but it does seem to keep them occupied for about 45 minutes while they are eating one. It's worth it to me just to have 45 minutes to sit on the couch without being covered with yorkies. lol |

| Luigi loves his greenies!!! They (in my opinion) do not calm our baby down!!! They go nutzos for their greenies!!! He takes it and goes in his cage with it. It takes himabout 2 hours to eat 1. But he doesn't eat the whole thing. After he's done he has a ton of enery, races around the house running into doors!!! Its sooo funny!!! We give him it around 7:00pm. Then gors thru his crazy phase then about 10 or 11:00 he is out for the night!! He runs soooo fast that when he jumps up on the couch, he seems to bounce right off!!! Doesn't even phase him!!!! Also I do think they help with his breath. It was nasty breath for a while, but after starting himon the greenies, its much better!!! We also give him doggy breath strips!!!! They dissolve in his mouth!! If you buy them online in a bigger bulk, the greenies are much cheaper!!! |

| Schatzie only likes the greenies as a way to tease Annabelle. She will lay in front of Annabelle with her's untouched while Annabelle chomps hers down. Then Schatzie will savor her's as Annabelle watches over and if laugh, Schatzie would. She eat's it all but one bite, then her and that bite go to bed together and she lays on it till morning. The next day - the teasing begins. Over and over again. Schatzie ONLY likes them because of Annabelle. She would never eat one alone, trust me I've tried. Oh but if Annabelle is around Schatzie flaunts her stuff, let me tell ya! Regarding the "calming affect"....I doubt it seriously.

| Thanks for the info. I am not sure if I am going to try them yet. I agree, they are a little pricey. Schatzie - that's so funny! I swear, our forum should start a new reality show -- Little Dogs with Attitudes

| Our two definitely love Greenies and they do NOT calm them down. LOL I get them online where the price averages out to about 43 cents each. www.dogsoutfitter.com |
