| Has a pile of toys that she likes but still goes for everything else??!? My 6 month old Yorkie has about 10 different toys of different textures, shapes and sizes and she likes to play with and chew on all of them BUT - she still insists on finding anything and everything else to chew on. I don't even know where she finds this stuff sometimes lol. I'm kinda OCD about keeping my house clean lol but she's so small I guess she gets in places and finds things I don't even see? She'll come running over to me chewing on 'something' and I open her mouth to find - tiny little rocks, fuzz etc. and today I got scared - she had a 1" broken piece of wood I don't even know where it came from, I checked all my furniture etc. ?? And out in the yard, forget it, she runs around then stops and starts chewing on something - wild rabbit poop, dead leaf, who knows? I know puppies love to chew and explore the world with their mouths just like human babies, but I worry about it being dangerous (like the wood this morning ) Like, I said, she has a bunch of toys and I keep the house really clean and I'm always right by her and watch her as closesly as I can, but I can't keep my eye on her every second and she cries if I kennel her during the day and my dh works 3rd shift so that's not possible. Please tell me they grow out of this?? Does anyone know some great toys that keep their Yorkie puppies occupied enough to not want to go searching every nook and cranny for something else?

| Sounds like a typical Yorkie puppy. Max is 10 months and he's just starting to grow out of this phase. I really have to "charge" whatever toy i want him to play with by getting down on the floor and getting involved in the action. I recommend bully sticks, although some people may not agree. It keeps my boys very busy, for short periods of time. You may also want to try Kong toys where you can stuff them with treats or her favorite edibles. Also Max loves to play with his Egg Babies Amazon.com: Kyjen Egg Babies Dog Toy, Original... I think she'll grow out of it in the next couple of months.

| Hi. My pup has a TON of toys but she still thinks it is great to grab her tinkle pad and have fun with it. She also loves paper towel and tissues. I sometimes will see her chewing oddly so I know she has something she shouldn't in her mouth but so far, nothing super bad and she does not seem to swallow the stuff! I'm just hoping she doesn't move onto other household items. She already managed to get my cell phone and the remote! But, I love her! |

| Ditto Tibbe and he is 3 1/2!!! Must be a Yorkie thing - into everything.

| Well at least I know I'm not alone LOL. Ya, luckily she never swallows anything. She stole my dh's keys last night! Just trottin along the floor with a set of keys dangling from her teeth The worst was a stray one of my son's "army guys" got decapitated found the head right next to her though as she was working on his feet Guess I'll just have to be really diligent and pray she grows out of it. When I worked as a vet tech I don't remember ever having a problem with a Yorkie actually swallowing anything big or harmfull so hopefully they're smart enough to not actually "eat" what they find? We did have a boxer that swallowed a 2 karat engagment ring and a GS that liked to eat entire bed sheets though!! At least she's not that bad LOL

| Yep, Rhia still does that and she is 3! She'd rather play with my dirty socks after a long day than play with her toys. Silly pup!

| Yep, just a normal Yorkie pup! My guys seem to prefer computer cables that is until I got tired of replacing them and went wireless. They are also particularly fond of dirty socks and undies - when we have company they love to "share". |

| Oh, Alice LOVES socks lol. And she's so quick the little theif lol. She has resorted to sticking her head in my son's toy box (it's one that has an opening in the front) to steal his planes, matchbox cars, anything. Of course I take it away and replace it with one of her many toys, but she just looks at it then at me like, umm the helecopter was better LOL. Oh well, adding an ex-pen to her list of supplies

| Haha! My baby is nine months old and her favorite toys are my bras! She just loves getting to them and dragging them around my house! And fuzz, she's like a little vacuum! If there is fuzz or lint and she passes by, it's gone! Gotta keep the floor super clean! And never leave my bras out! Or she'll ruin em! |

| I just had to revive this thread. But this was a perfect answer to my question. I was highly concerned that I was buying Milo toys in vain, and it sounds like the answer is tottering towards yes, but at least I am not alone. He's much more interested in everything but his toys. He will only play with his toys if I actively engage him with them, and I am sorry but that is almost like never, because getting down on the floor to play with him causes a sudden case of ADD on my behalf. Playtime over. I can't even bring myself to play "babies" or tea party with the three year old in my house without going cuckoo, let alone a crazy Yorkie. I am hoping that I don't have to train him to play with his toys too, because I can't even get him to come when I call. I am still trying to figure out if he knows what his name is yet....but I digress...
