| durable toy? Any recommendations on a durable toy for my yorkie? She tears every toy to shreads! I bought her a stuffing free one and within 10 miniutes she had the squeakers out and I had to throw them away. She tears at everything! I also got her a flosser rope toy she almost shreads that too! She is almost a year old. |

YT Addict | Lexi is the same way, her favourite toy is: Petstages Mini Barbell Chew Dog Toy - Toys - Dog - PetSmart Have you tried kongs? They are pretty durable too, sometimes I'll put peanut butter in which she loves.

| I went through the same thing. I have three standard things I use. 1. Nylabone petite size Durable Pooch Pacifiers. 2. The small size Kong toys. 3. Planet Dog orbee-tuff balls. I also just kept one demolished squirrel which she still likes to play with which has no stuffing and no squeaker. She removed them in the first ten minutes. When I first got her, I was buying six to eight toys per month which all had the same sad fate. When I found the Planet Dog toys, I was so grateful, I emailed the company and received a really nice response. www.planetdog.com |

| Here are some that will at least slow down the Yorkie Terrors! There are some toys made out of recycled fire hoses. One is Four Paws Products Toy Crunch & Crackle Black Large - 23000 and there are others called Sqwuggies Squeak ‘n Tug Toy -- Amazon.com: Sqwuggies Squeak 'n Tug Dog Toys -... Mega ring -- 7 layer soft toy Tuffy Pet Toy - Tough Dog Toy, Durable, Dog Toy, Indestructible Dog Toy, Soft Squeaky Dog Toy, Combat Tough, Tuffies,Mighty, Silly Squeakers Booda Quirkies bones and balls and the Dogzilla toys -- mine did not liek the rubber taste I guess, as they did not play with them much. Top Paws Goofy ball is a good one too -- it makes a gurgly sound and bounces randomly. I haven't tried this one but it looks like mine might like it because it makes a funny sound.

| My Rudy is really tough on stuffed toys also. But I've found the Nylabone stuffed toys to be very durable. Rudy has had his for close to 2 years now and they are still good. Rudy has: Nylabone Bad Boy Aster Dog Toy & Nylabone Rita Polka Pants Dog Toy. ( Don't tell anyone Rudy has a "Pink" dog toy. ) You can go to: Dog Toys, Indestructible dog toys, kong dog toys, greenies dog chews, nylabone and see pics of these & other Nylabone Stuffed Dog Toys. But I got mine at a store called That Fish Place that's close to my house. I guarantee you your furbaby will not be able to destroy these.

| My dog destroys Nylabones, stuffed toys, etc. So far the only thing that lasts for him are kongs. I usually get him these round pigs/ducks, medium loofas (the 6"ish ones), and other stuffed toys. I don't mind if he destroys them! That being said, I pet sat for a dog that destroyed the kong in one bite (as well as all of Scruffs other toys too ). Oh, and he easily destroyed 3 different kinds of those pet stages toys..

| I have found that Bow Wow Beanies are great. They are a collection that Beanie Babies make for dogs. They are safe, durable, and fun for yorkies. I even throw it in the washer every now and than when it looks dirty and comes out looking new and the squeek still works! |

| Durable Toys Ocho shreds toys within minutes...makes it look like it snowed in the room! He doesn't shred the plastic squeak toys, so those are pretty durable. Also, his favorite toy in the world is an empty water, gatorade or pop plastic bottle...I have no idea why he loves that so much but he goes nuts for it! And the best thing is, it's cheap, you can recycle it when you're done, and you get a drink out of it!

| I am SO GLAD to know tha I am not the only one struggling with the toy situation. I have a 1yr old Yorkie who has a knack for biting. He destroys -every- toy he is given. He has one ball which has lasted, and we recently bought him a big air bouncy ball which he LOVES because he can't possibly bite it, since it's round, smooth and too big, but he will chase it and knock on it for hours. He has started chewing on his beds and has destroyed three of them already. I find myself sewing, often! The kongs are excellent. They have lasted him the most. I will check out all the previous suggestions Good luck! Last edited by MagicElla; 08-01-2009 at 10:02 PM. |

| Bonnie has had a stuffed bunny from AKC that we purchased in Petco, for several months. It stinks, and she plays tug of war with me or DH each night til it is so wet with slobber that we can't stand to touch it. She chews on it, and has de-fuzzed it in places. Beleive it or not, I still hear it squeek every now and then. |

| toy demolisher morkie I have read your messages regarding tough toys. My Morkie Belle is terrible. She started with a toy box full of misc. toys and only has one left. She loves pulling the stuffing out and making me chase her to get it away. I have a big box of needs repair toys. She does still have her kong and I stick a pressed bone in it and she carries it everywhere. She loves anything she can pick up and throw. Her favorite toy is a regular tennis ball as it is just fuzzy enough to get ahold of and toss. I put one of the tennis balls into an empty frozen grape juice container (plastic) Belle can't get it out but it teases her and it has become the toy of the past month. Since she ran out of toys, she has started on the couch pillows and my bed quilt. I try to divert her attention to something she can have, but choices are running low. She does know the sound of my cupboard opening that I keep my storage containers in and she loves that cupboard! |

| Durable Toys My yorkies love Orca's. Especially for teething. They chew on the strings & the toys are made of something you'd think a JRT needs! Here's a link to give an example of..But I find them at Petsmart or other online places. Shopzilla - Orka Dog Toys Dog Supplies shopping - Pet Supplies online |
