| Cat fishing pole toy We bought a fishing pole- looking toy for our cat and Olivia loves it! It's just a pole with a suction cup that you can attach to the window. There's some elastic string and a feather thing with a bell attached to the end. We have Olivia chase it around the living room and she goes nuts! It's around $2 at Walmart and is one of the best investments we've made for toys for both of them. I would highly recommend it- cheap and apparently a lot of fun for yorkies! |

| Chewey is the same. LOVES cat games, cat toys, etc...But ESPECIALLY the fishing pole. THe problem with a larger Yorkie is that you gotta make your own. He loves the conventional ones, but after he passed 14 lbs, they didn't last very long. We tied a particularly fun sqeaky lamb toy to a bit of string and dangle it in his face. Sometimes I put it on a wooden dowel so that I can sit and twitch it for him. Other times, I find it just as easy to just take the string + toy named "lamb on a rope". He will chase me around for hours, tugging when he catches it, batting at it with his paws, running in circles, etc...Sometimes when he needs attention and I don't have the bandwidth, I tie it around my ankle and just shake my foot as I work. He'll get to tugging on it and it's great fun for him while my hands are free. Try simply tying a length of string or thin rope around your ankle (about two to three feet of it) and walking around the dwelling. Much like a cat, Chewy will harken to string and pursue it around wherever I go. |
