| Nylabone Dental Chews (not Edible) I've been reading a few posts on here saying that Nylabones are not safe and that dogs have choked on them. Winston chews on this kind all the time and it's not wornen down yet or anything. Should I be taking it away? |

| I think if they can't break chunks off of it, it should be ok. Just keep an eye on her and see if she slowly wears it down or actually gets chunks from it. I give them to my puppy but she doesnt make a dent in them yet. My dachshund, on the other hand, is a strong chewer and will break it apart. So its not right for him.

| The nylanone I think is pretty safe. Maybe if your dog is a strong chewer? I know the blue ones with the knobs sometimes get chewed off, maybe that is what they are talking about?

| Our girls chew the white (non-edible) Nyla bones, and we haven't had a problem, when they get too worn we get rid of them. On the white ones there are no little bumps, they are just smooth. We also have the dinosaur shaped ones and they really love them, but they have little bumps on them to clean their teeth, these ones just seem to wear down so far. Our girls are really strong chewers and they seem to be one of the few things that the cannot chew through. I think the edible ones, might be the ones that someone had a problem with. ~Marly

| Brody likes the blue ones. He has chewed off a few of the bumps, but they haven't hurt him. He's not a strong chewer so the bones last forever. I only change them out when then get icky.

YT 1000 Club Member | I bought one of the blue ones with the nubs on it when Maggie was still a puppy. Well she chewed off some of the nubs and I took pics of it and sent an email to nylabone about it because it wasn't supposed to do that. Anyway I recieved a nice email back letting me know that sometimes there are really aggressive chewers and they need something that can withstand the force of them chewing. She was kind enough to send me a box with several chew toys they make that are specifically for aggressive chewers.

| Nylabone does make edible bones but they are not dental. Jack loves the bacon flavored ones so I let him chew on those and then I just brush his teeth every night. He is super good about it. You buy the edible ones at any PetCo and probably PetSmart. But I found the same ones cheaper at Target! He also really loves the Beef Hide Strips from Target which do not break off but wear down. I found brushing his teeth is a much easier route since he is such a strong chewer! |

| Starsky and Shylah chew those blue bones all the time. I probably have 8 of them around the house. But everytime I take them to the vet, she says their teeth look great! I swear it is because of those blue bones. I have to take Starsky to the vet next week for his physical and I am anxious to see if his teeth are still good.

| Tuff Chews Pixel is a pretty intense chewer. She loves to chew her toys. I was concerned about her breaking chunks off and choking, so I bought the "Tuff" chews (in beef flavour as that's her favourite). I've attached a picture here. She really goes to town on those. lol, now I'm worried that she'll chip a tooth on them! Has anyone read/heard anything about that?

| Rocky and Bella has had those blue nylabones before and they never broke pieces off of them, and Bella usually breaks apart anything! I still watch them though just incase because theres a first time for everything.

| Triss wont touch any of the nylabone products for some reason. The only thing she will chew on is bully sticks. They are so expensive though!! But I have to keep one at all times for her chewing fix.

| We have the Y-shaped 'Princess' nylabone (NON-edible) and both my girls LOVE them! They both like to chew-but do fine with these! I would just use your judgement & keep an eye on your baby!

| nylabone I give nylabones to my girls and they love them. It't the only thing I have found that will last. They will chew and chew and the bones will get pasty on the outside and they can injest the soft stuff eventually eating the whole thing. Makes a mess with hair=do. LOL. |
