| what kind of toys my bloo is a ball of energy. I cant get him to pick a toy the only thing he really seams to play with is his rope and then he will lick all the stuff out of it. but im trying to keep him entertained during the day and i'm out of ideas on what else yorkies tend to like to play with. |

| as far as toys go, mine likes anything that squeaks or makes some sort of sound. Also loved nylabones at that teething age. Now she loves her everlasting treat ball the best. |

| Baxter loves the tennis ball toys with rope arms and legs. He loves to play fetch with them and then beat himself with it by whipping his head back and forth with it in his mouth. Whatever you do don't buy anything rubber. No matter how indestructible it claims to be, Baxter usually eats and swallows at least 2 bites before we get home from Petsmart. |

| There was an article in the Whole Dog Journal about vinyl dog toys and how dangerous they can be due to the toxic chemicals used in the processing. Phthalates can interfere with development in young puppies, cause reproductive damage, and liver damage. The article states that chemicals migrate via the dogs saliva increasing the toxic effects. That was enough for me to go confiscate all the vinyl squeaky toys we have and get rid of them. (They don't recycle well either so that is another problem). FYI The Whole Dog Journal recommends looking for toys made of materials that are natural or nearly so, such as natural rubber, real bones to chew, organic cotton or hemp. One of the highly recommended toys was Orbee balls from Planet Dog. Doggles has a new line of crocheted toys for small dogs. So if you crochet, make your own toys. I am going to go on a hunt to see if I can find crochet patterns for small toys. If I do, I'll share them! |

| I learned to crochet just so I could make gruffle balls. If you do a search for them, you can find a pattern. I revised it a little for my babies. Finally a ball that is safe to throw in the house!!

| I recommend a KONG. They are grate for teething dogs and they bounce so they can toss it around them selfs if they get bored. You can even put snacks in them to distract them for a little while.

| I recommend some squeak toys, particularly ones in the shapes of animals such as squirrels or rabbits. My Yorkie loves to chase after these toys and shake them to death with her head, as if she was killing them. The AKC sells toys like these at Target or Wal-Mart. |

| toys Ours is 6 months old and has loved toys since we brought him home. He's like a toddler that all he thinks about is playing!! We recently bought a little cloth frisbee which he loves. I can throw it in the house for him to chase it. I don't leave it with him as he will tear it up within 10 minutes. He loves this round ball that is squishy with holes all in it. He stands on it and gets a good grip with his mouth. I love it because it won't hurt anything in the house to throw it. Last edited by SammySyverson; 04-03-2008 at 04:58 PM. |

| Ditto on the krackle jax, mine with find one and chase each other for the one they have. Each dog has there own but they play games chasing each other for theres and then play with there own for awhile. It keeps them busy for hours.

| Kongs are great and mine like furry toys, just be sure to get ones with cloth eyes and noses as they tend to chew the plastic ones.
