| What kind of toys does she have? I think different dogs like different types of toys. Max doesn't play with chew-type toys; he likes the kind that squeak. His little sister likes things she can chew on. And Max doesn't really sit around and play with his toys; he only wants to play with them if you're chasing after him or playing WITH him.

| Lucy only has a few favorites and the rest are just taking up space. Of course her all time favorite is playing ball...

| As a previous poster mentioned, you need to play WITH the puppy and the toy. Puppies need to learn how to play with toys and with you. It's a socialization process. They need to learn your games, etc... Soon, they associate that toy with fun and will play with it some on their own, but toys are mostly for interaction. A ball will just sit there until you throw it or kick it for your puppy to chase. Squeaky toys are only fun for them if you react. Have fun! If you want your puppy to play by himself or herself, that's a different story. Try the puzzle toys or bully sticks. Even with the puzzle toys, you need to praise them at first for playing with them. Have fun! Go throw that ball!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie really has no interest in toys bur prefers to play with the other dogs. Cali loves small soft latex toys and likes to play with me. She likes to hide them and then I try to find them and she goes and hides it somewhere else. If playing with her doesn't help she may just not be in to toys.

| ......... When I first got Adelaide she wouldn't play with her toys! She was even scared when they squeaked! Now she's toy Crazy! I would Definitely recommend a Kong! Addie has a Puppy Kong wubba and its one of her favorites! Also, Dr. Noys toys, the tiny fuzzy ones with the replaceable squeekers.......she has a frog and a duck that she loves! You can get them at squeakers! They are the perfect size for her to pick up and carry around! Hope you find something you little one likes! I think my Adelaide would go nuts without her toys! I just thought of one more thing......you could try one of the flavored ropes! They have those at petsmart too, they're mint flavored and supposed to be good for the teeth!

| My Otis doesn't play with toys. He likes to chew bullies, but doesn't ever just play with toys or balls. I guess some like toys and some don't!

YT 500 Club Member | Sophie is not really a toy lover. She will go in spurts. She has a basket full but likes a new one now and then. She does not have a long attention span either. She gets tired of playing quickly and then only on her terms. For a while, she would start playing at about 9:45 pm right before bedtime, getting all of her toys out and spreading them around. She hasn't done that in a while. We played "fetch" this morning with a new toy, but she never will bring it back. When she is done she will drop it, and that is our cue to throw it again. This lasts about five minutes. We tried and tried when she was a puppy and finally gave up and decided she just doesn't like toys all that much.

| Use Treats on Her Toys You can stuff a treat inside of the toy (if the toy is made for that), but make sure she is able to get the treat out. If your toy isn't a treat stuffer, you can rub a treat on it. The smell of the treat should peak her attention enough to introduce play. Other things to consider: - The toy may be too large for her/too hard to chew - Have you tried a variety of toys (plush/rubber/rope toys/squeakers) - Place a toy under your bed covers for a week (to help hold your smell) and then give it to her You may have tried some or all of these things. I am just offering my thoughts. |

| Brewser never used to like her toys either. She used to be scared of the squeaky toys, so I would pretend to be scared of it too and then "pounce" on it and pretend I was attacking it I would say things like "oh no brewser, what's that?" And then "get it" and she thought she had to help me attack it. Now it's the only kind of toy she plays with. I also take her shopping with me and let her pick out which toys she wants. |

His loofa dog(I think that is what they call them- a long red dog) He LOVES IT Kong w/ pnut butter!! YUm, he loves that!! A squeaky duck just a piece of sheepshin, or what ever it is- he tosses that around, and lays his head on it when he is sleeping a lot!! A raindeer, cloth squeaky bone,Balls- oh yea, and he brings them back and drops them! But probably his fav. is tops off something- caps off like shaving cream, or that type, caps off milk jugs,Water bottles, he goes nuts over them!
