However, I want to publicly praise and thank the ladies who have helped me make Taffy's first birthday and first Christmas so special by their lovely custom-made items. (A couple of the things are still yet to come but I am assured they will be as great as the earlier items.)

I am absolutely speechless at the beauty and quality of their work and you guys know I am not often speechless!

I originally met one of the artists through etsy but the others I met here on YorkieTalk. I cannot think of a better description for their work than to refer to it as art....simply beautiful creations.

Their clothes are nowhere near the price of designer labels but I daresay I would still choose these custom-made items even if the prices were comparable. These are sewn with a personal touch and love for the intended Yorkie and it is so evident.

The ladies on here will graciously make adjustments to their design despite the fact that you are altering their garment. I was so hesitant at first to ask for a modification but could not have been more pleased by the response and outcome.

Taffy chewed through her beautiful harness that Cindy had made and answered my SOS for help to repair. However, when it would not repair to Cindy's satisfaction (very high standard of quality control, I think), she made her another one...and did this without charge. I am still in shock at her generosity. Plus, she did this for us during her rush time at the height of the GE because she knew we really needed it.

Cindy, you are sooooo admired, respected, and adored here. I hope you have some sense of how much. Thank you from both Taffy and myself.

She shipped the collar I ordered on October 29th. I hadn't received anything by November 7th, so I sent her a PM. She checked with the post office who only had info on the package being accepted and nothing else. Bo took it upon herself to send me a second collar priority mail so that I would get the collar in time for my Sophia's spay!

My little one is doing well after her spay and the collar has been great. It is really well made and super cute. I'm glad I was able to have a Softee Cone Collar so Sophia can eat and sleep comfortably. I also love that it is washable and adjustable in case I need to use it for my larger Yorkie.

I recently made some fabric bows for Sammy and I thought I would make more and see if there is any interest here for them. They are entirely sewn (by machine and by hand - they are quite a labor of love!) I have about 20 finished and will post them today or tomorrow in the for sale thread. My question is about band/barrette backs. The options I have are the flat alligator clips, the ones with the teeth and snap clips. I can also attach covered elastic bands.

The alligator clips would have to be hot glued on... I'm not sure I want to ruin a hand sewn bow with a glob of hot glue, but that seems to be how all of the bows are, so is that OK? The snap clips have holes to sew them on, but I need to test those on Sam and see how they hold. I have had too many french clips rip out half of Sam's topknot hair so I no longer use them, but if others do then I could get some.

Covered elastics are great because they won't rip out hair like barrettes would. They might get stretched out though. I use the same elastics over and over on Sammy, but if it does get stretched out then you would be stuck having to take it off - but if it's sewn you could easily attach a new one or glue a barrette on the back to save the bow. I do feel like this is the safest option though. I feel like these bows would outlast the band. I don't think that latex bands would be substantial enough for these bows, plus they also tend to rip out precious topknot hair. (Maybe Sam is the only one ripping out her ponytail 2-3 times a day? :rolleyes: We use covered elastics on her...)

I would like to come up with the *best* option or 2 to attach (it's easiest to do all at once) and then maybe I could offer a special order if someone needs a different kind. This is what I'm trying to figure out.

In early Sept I contacted YT vendor Adrianna Balderas wanting information on a Kwigy Bo carrier. I put an order for a Alex Luxe bag and sent her a personal check dated and sent around Sept 28. Having had good communication with her via YT PM, I tried contacting her twice before putting a stop payment on a check. I placed my stop payment on the Oct 7th, and I notified her that same day. My reasons for placing a stop payment was her lack of communication, my paranoia for having sent a personal check by mail, and having checked the Kwigy Bo website the bag I wanted was out of stock anyway. She contacted me on the around the 17th and asked me if I still wanted a bag and that my check was in her possession. I replied on the 17th to her personal email address again letting her know that the check was no longer good and not to cash it. She did anyway on Oct 17th. She went to a check cashing place who then gave her money in exchange for my check.
They have now sent me two letters, which I received yesterday from my dad, it was sent to his address. On the letter the check cashing place says that they are going to sue me for $1000 in punitive damages plus $170 for the amount of the check and a $25 service fee. I gave the check cash place a call after trying to communicate with Adrianna (annamalyssa) with no luck both through personal email and through a YT friend who has helped her in the past. The check cash lady told me that Adrianna use to come in everyday with money orders and checks and they were always able to cash them. Adrianna was a regular customer who often brought Gucci along. They said since Adrianna had been a regular customer for a while they just cashed her check (mine) in good faith not knowing that I had already put a stop payment on the check. Since I signed a check that made me liable for that money even though the check had not been valid for 10 days. The check cash lady said the laws protect her and her employer, an innocent third party, and there is nothing I can do but pay up. I am legally responsible for the amount I mentioned above because I wrote a check. The laws apparently don't protect me.
The check cash lady also shared how much of a hard time they have had trying to locate Adrianna. Her phone number is no longer valid, she no longer stops by everyday as she use to, and the letters that are sent are not answered or acknowledged by Adrianna. Adrianna has simply gone MIA. This last bit of information is what convinced me to start this thread.
This is not a rant, this is just the facts and after my conversation with the check cashing lady I felt it was necessary that I warn my YT family. I am not trying to tarnish her reputation, I just want her actions to speak for themselves. I would have waited but after speaking with someone that assures me that I will be held accountable for $1170, I felt the need to speak up.

She wore it out today to the local dog bakery & boutique and to Petsmart. She got so many compliments!! The owners of the bakery took her picture in it to put in their store.
