I take Maddie to work with me everyday and she discovered the spring type door stop behind the door. @ first it scared her when she bumped it, then she started pawing at it and it buzzed as it vibrated everytime she pawed at it. the 1 at work has a rubber end on it so i know it wont hurt her, but she growls and pounces on it constantley making it buzz--she had me laughing so hard i was crying. sometimes i have to remove it just to get my sides to stop hurting from all the laughing. she really likes that silly thing. seems to be her favorite toy at the moment.:D

I adopted my lil 7 year old about a week ago, and when I tried to play with her with some toys (a soft disc, a tennis ball and one of those tug ropes) and she just looks at them all confused like she has no idea what to do with them! She won't even fetch.

Is there an easy way to get her to play? I have heard of using the toys that you put treats in, but since we are also trying to train her for basic commands we don't want to give her even MORE treats.

Are treat toys really the best way to introduce toys to a dog? Will that even get them to understand to play?

She tears toys apart in minutes

Any toy I ever buy her gets mutilated within minutes and I dont
know how to get her to take it easy with her toys/babies.
She has one toy puppy...

Any toy I ever buy her gets mutilated within minutes and I dont
know how to get her to take it easy with her toys/babies.
She has one toy puppy that we call her baby and shes had it since she was the size of my husbands thumb so shes very attached, its the longest lasting toy in the house but still horribly torn. I think she treats it nicer because its her "security blanket"..

Her kong is the only things thats been indestructible.

Are the stuffing free toys not as easy for them to tear
up?
I'm hoping I can just teach her to be more gentle with
her toys :)

Any advice?

OMG:eek: I stopped by Wal-Greens today after work to pick up DH scrips. I stopped by the pet dept to pick up pee pads (they have the Hartz 50 count for 10 bucks) well they had the Beanie babys for dogs and I thought they looked a little big for my two little ones, but I thought i'll get one and give it a try. They went absolutely bonkers over it. I got the fox (at least i think its a fox) now I'm gonna have to make a trip back to get another one, cause they are taking it away from each other. No fights yet but I am watching close!!! LOL I should have known to get two!!!:D And they are only 5.00 if you buy two.
