| Eurovision Song Contest Anyone watch it? Is it just me who thinks it's unfair how the countries vote? I personally think that our entry, UK, was awful and that's putting it nicely! I genuinely thought the only good songs this year were from Hungry, Sweeden and Ireland... the top 5 were terrible!!! Has Europe lost it's taste in music or is it just down to tacticle voting cuz it seems everyone votes for their allies... such a shame...

| Wasn't it awful! I used to love watching it, always good for a giggle, especially with Wogan's droll comments There was plenty last night for him, that group with the chap in the silver frock & martian hat from the Ukraine, & what was with the French chap?? Couldn't exactly say any of last nights offerings were any you'd catch anyone whistling on the way to work though eh? Come back Volare & Waterloo I say. The voting's a complete farce now, all the Eastern Europeans vote for their neighbours. And it's just got too big. it's ludicrous that they have to have a contest to see who's going to sing in the contest now, so hardly any from western Europe even got in. Personally, I think they should split it into two now. Let the eastern block have their own contest with all the weird, tuneless stuff they seem to like, & go back to the old style contest for the west. |

| I'm so glad someone else agrees with me.... it's a complete joke... I don't like Wogan personally but I couldn't imagine someone else presenting it! He really gives it to the others! I hear you about the French bloke... a little too much pink I think! The woman with the LED's on her hand... she was SCAREY! I genuienly did like the Hungry entry, (girl singing at the bus stop) and the Sweedish, (I think it was them, almost 70's glam rock). I know what your saying about spliting it... I think maybe we should save ourselves the hassle and just not bother.... our entries have be terrible for years, last year we got 4 points and this year 19... I mean, is it really worth it to hear an awful song being played on the radio constantly in the run up and then score next to nothing???

| I agree, our song was pretty pathetic. At least, coming near the bottom, there's no danger of us having to cough up for the expensive farce through our license fee Of a pretty boring bunch, I thought the girl at the bus stop was one of the best & the Swedish one, though every time he sang the refrain I kept expecting him to sing "Love grows where my Rosemary goes," that song from the sixties, as the tune was almost identical. Think we should refuse to send anyone for a few years, like Monaco did. Last edited by Meggie; 05-14-2007 at 04:07 AM. |

LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | I have watched it...UK sucked, no good songs. And who won they had better stayed home. I like that song named ''Maria'', but can't remember who sang it. I might have liked it b/c that's my name? LOL
