Tilly has broken her leg Tily broke her leg yesterday and is having to have an operation today. She lept from my nephews arms and landed flat on the floor. She has broken her right front leg. The vets say its an easy thing to fix and could have been worse but we havent slept with the worry. Its cost ?2000 luckily she was insured. We hope to have her home today but they say she might be house bound for 6 weeks. She is so lively and its really upsetting to think of her not playing with Jack.

thank you, does anyone have any advice for caring for her when she comes home, the vet said to keep her in a cage for two weeks. I hate the thought of that so any suggestions are welcome.

Poor Tilly!!! Hi, have you got or could you get hold of a giant cage?? I have a couple, plus a giant 'soft crate' this way at least she wouldn't be so restricted?? I suppose another ?50 or so is too much to pay?? Luckily I have a Newfie(used to have 2 but lost my oldest in July...)so I have them lying about unused!! So sorry to hear about Tilly, it's so easy to have an accident!!! Luckily mine are insured too. Maybe if you get her out of the cage to play gently you could use a leash or a harness to keep her in check, where she can express a bit of personality or exhuberance! But at least it would be under some sort of control! Hope this helps a little? all the best for a very safe and swift recovery and a kiss from Pepe and Tobey!! love Dawn

My yorkie had several leg opps over his short life, he would not have been happy in a crate so I put stair gates across the rooms and made sure he could not climb on to the chairs ect he was happy with this and would just lay about quiet.

I am sorry to hear about you YT. How did her surgery go? I know just what you are going through. Mimi broke her right leg on 30th of Dec. Someone must have opened the door on her. I put her in that room to keep her safe. We were not sure at what time the accident happened or how long she was injured before we found her. Every time I think about it, my heart breaks. I pray for a speedy recovery for your baby. Take good care and let us all know how things are going.

Sorry I havent checked for ages. Tilly recovered really quickly 5 weeks in fact. She is now back to her stupid self again which we love. She is running with her husband around the flat as I type. I think it has made her a better yorkie as now she likes us to fuss over her as before she didnt care if we did or didnt, so now she loves bein hugged and stroked in fact when we stop stroking her she raises her paw and touches us to carry on, which is so cute. thanks you all for your kind words and thoughts.
