Puppy hardly eating???? Hi, I have a 11 week old small breed yorkie. We got her at 8 weeks and the breeder gave us eukamba food that we would soak in hot water which lasted her nearly 2 weeks, which she would gobble up. I bought eukamba from pet shop but it didnt seem to be the same as what the breeder gave us, which she wasnt so keen on but ate ok. But for the last 4 days she has harldy been eating anything. I perservered with her food, taking it away if she didnt eat it and given it to her later. But it ddnt change anything. So i tried her on the food sample the vets gave me (science plan) which she was the same on. So i bought her pedigree puches trying to encorouge her. The first time she ate them she gobbled it down and now she is just leaving it like she did with dry food. So last night i made her boiled chicken and rice as i was doing a curry and she ate it all up. There obviously isnt anything wrong with her as she eats when theres something nice and she is still happy and playful but it worries me her not eating. Do u think she is just a fussy eater? Thanks

Hi, Angel was like that too, I even started to hand feed her for a while but then just left the food for her to eat whenever she felt hungry done that till she was 16 weeks old then started with feeding times. Try to stay with the same food and she will get use to it. Hope it helps, Good Luck! Marcos

| If she is eating when you put out something that interests her like chicken and rice then likely there is nothing wrong with her and she is just a picky eater. Dog Food Reviews - Main Index - Powered by ReviewPost Here is a link that rates foods... I try to stick with foods that are given 5 or 6 stars... maybe she would like one of these better as they contain more real meat... good luck! Also a lot of people have good luck with Merrick foods because if you add hot water it creates a little gravy on the kibble.

I decided to be tough and just gave her 10 mins to eat her dry food with water and if she didnt eat it I made her wait until her next meal. She is eating it fine at the moment....fingers crossed

I think your yorkie is playing you up if anything was wrong she would not eat at all despite what you did. My oldest yorkie goes without food sometimes for a day or so then eats again after that - we think he just is watching his weight, remember although small they are still dogs and if in the wild state they would not eat at regular times of the day and every day so do not worry. If it goes on for any long time then consult your vet or have you tried warming the food slightly that sometimes makes it more appetising. By continually changing the food you are actually causing the problem and turning her into a fussy eater - yorkies are notorious at getting their own way dont be fooled by that small body
