| puppy mill or no? I live in Ottawa Ontario and have been looking and researching different breeders in my area. I have come accross a local Kennel called Paws R Us Kennels, located in Quebec. These breeders have different breeds of dogs, and after speaking with them they say they keep the dogs in the house, allow them to interact with the children, they are raised underfoot and have lots of play time inside and outside. I just wondering if anyone else has ever heard of this kennel, any good or bad information would be great!!! It will help make our decision on where to purchase!!! Thanks everyone |

| the best thing you can do is ask to visit... and follow through and go see what it looks like. If they just take a puppy and two parents out to show you... ask where the rest are.... if it seems fishy it probably is. good luck finding your special baby! |

| Hi! Welcome to YT! I'm from Ottawa too! I didn't get Tia from a breeder (she was a surprise gift from my husband) but I did get some great advice from a breeder in Moose Creek (between Ottawa and Montreal I think)....basically if I had to buy a second yorkie I would absolutely go to her.....but her name escapes me! I will look around and try to post either today or tomorrow.

| Just don't buy sight unseen!! Don't fly one in from someplace you have not seen. A reputable breeder has nothing to hide and will invite you to the home to see the parents and puppies and also ask you lots of questions too. Make sure the puppy comes with a health certificate, bile acid tested and health guarantee for the first year, spayed or neutered and first shots. Good luck in your search. |

| Thanks for the replys, i've spoken to the breeder is Moose Creek, but found that she is too overly protective of her puppies once they have left for their new homes. Maybe its just me but i feel that once I have spent that much money on my pup and brought it home to my house its up to us to raise and if needed we could contact the breeder. From what I got from the breeder, she wanted to be in contact almost everyday, and we had to follow her rules through the life of the pup.....not something that I am going to do after spending that much on a pup. I have been looking at another breeder in Cardinal...anyone bought from there or heard about it? |

| Puppy mills Hey; I live in Oakville and have a cottage near Sturgeon Falls. that local paper has this breeder in there all the time. I have to question their ethics because they seem to sell anything (tons of diff breeds) for almost any price. Mya dvice is go visiting and if thats not possible, call the local SPCA; they should know. I think the local one for that breeder would be out of North Bay or perhaps Timmiskiming. Hope this helps. |

| I had a go around with a breeder here who got tangled up with a dog from this breeder about 5 years ago. It is illegal under the Canadian Kennel club rules to charge extra for registration papers which is exactly what this breeder was doing at that time. I found the website, too many puppies and breeding dogs in my humble opinion. And there should be something saying they are Canadian kennel Club registered as they have to be registered if selling purebreds. |

| I bought my puppy from her last November Quote:
Why not go and check her place out? Mocha is my dog and though she makes suggestions as to how to raise the dog, once you leave her place, the dog is yours. Be glad she cares though. | |

| I couldn't even begin to tell you how great Adele is. She is so helpful, and truly cares. I think it is great. Really, the only contact I have had with her is on my behalf. She makes it clear that she is available and there to help whenever needed, and in my opinion tries to make the whole experience the best for you. (for example, she said before I take him to the vet for something call her, it may be something she can 'explain' and therefore save me a vet bill). My sister and mother have dealt with other breeders, and the experience with them doesn't even compare. |

| I've talked with Adele too. She is really good and of great help. I didn't buy from her, but I bought Bikini from a lady in Gatineau who does businesses with her. They both are really nice and have been very supportive when Bikini had a pancreatitis... This lady loves to talk but is very caring for her dogs.
