Need Help Buying a Female Yorkie Puppy - YorkieTalk.com Forums

Hello. Happy New Year everyone! I'm new to the forum and was hoping I could get some help on buying a female Yorkie puppy. Where can I buy a Yorkie from a reputable breeder in Toronto or near here? What is the average cost of a Yorkie from a breeder? I've heard that females cost more because they are more in demand, and there aren't as many females compared to males in a litter. I contacted two breeders via e-mail and asked them how much they charge for a male and a female, but for some reason they won't answer this question. They just answered the questions that they wanted to and didn't answer all the ones I asked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm happy to have found this forum, especially one for Canadians.

First of all Welcome,
Try looking up the Ontario Kennel Club web site or phone number. Ask for a list of yorkie breeders.
Also check out dogs shows to find a breeder.

I paid $1500.00 for my female in 2001... she is from Cheltenham... abreeder in B.C.Megggie is a great little girl , wonderful disposition , not a mean bone in her body(my 2 year old niece once picked her up by the hair on her back and lifted her about a foot off the floor , not a peep)She was easy to housetrain , has travelled by plane , car , stayed in hotels.... Do , also check out canadian yorkshire terrier rescue.com , we currently have a couple of small yorkies a, about 5 yeears old ... Cookie is the female , I am fostering her , she is a sweetie...TRacy

I see you are in Toronto, sorry about that. I can put you in touch with a few breeders, and these are not puppy mills, they are in-home raised puppies. For registered yorkies, in the Toronto area, you should expect to pay $1500 plus.

Hi M&M yorkies. That's good Meggie is such a great girl. Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm looking for a pup so I can raise her.

Why do you want a registered pup? Do you intend to breed or show? For a registered pup, expect to pay 1500 to 2200. try these guys....
