| paw licking intervention I know that paw licking is related to allergies and we are off prednisone. Latte has good food that has no wheat, corn, poultry, but I sometimes put a bit of beef on top. Do I need to eliminate that also to counteact the paw licking? Does anyone have anything to put on the paws to make her feel better? I use 1% hydrocotisone on the unreachable spots. Has anyone tried that? I don't think she should be licking it. Does anyone think that low dose prednisone is ever ok? I'm thinking of buying her some veggie burgers to put on top. What do you think, gals? PS I know there are some high desert yorkie lovers out there....does your furbaby have allergies? who is your vet? What do you do to combat the Lick Monster? |

| Hi! Where in Cali are you from? For my retriever, we put a steril pad on top of some neosporin, then wrapped it with vet wrap. It healed well and he hasn't gone back to licking it. That is my only experience with paw licking. Hope that helps you out some!

| I'm so sorry I don't have any licking help for you (maybe this bump will get someone else's attention who is more help), but welcome to YT!!! The SoCal YT group holds a meet-up the second Saturday of everything month, so be sure and stay tuned to YT for details if you're interested. Also, are you part of the SoCal meet-up group on Yahoo? If not, you can join here: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCalYorkieMeetup/ It comes in handy on the days YT does down, and you're needing to access the details of the meet-up. Sukoshi and I would love to meet you and Latte in person! |
