SoCal YT Meet-up - Sat, June 9 We've been discussing the details of a meet-up in two different threads now, and I decided to just start a new thread so it's easy for everyone to find. We're having a SoCal meet-up at Yorba Regional Park on Saturday, June 9th, and WE'D LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE! Here are the details so far: What: SoCal YT Meet-up When: Saturday, June 9th - sometime after 1:00 pm (TBD) Where: Yorba Regional Park (7600 E. La Palma Ave, Anaheim 92807) So far, we have a few YTers who are for sure going: Myself (Sukoshi’s Mom) – Sukoshi Lauren (LaurenR) – Mango (and maybe Spanky?!) Corinne (Dan & Corinne) - (Jazzie, Jen, or Jolie - or maybe all 3?!?!) Cal (slixs) & Cindy – Lilo & Stitch And we have a few others who are possibilities: (Yorkiedaze) & Friend – Zada & Azrael & Friend’s 2 Yorkies Suz (Suz) – “A couple of them” So...look at this gathering already! It's going to be a great time, I'm sure! You can see the original discussions about the meet-up at http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79451 and http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79787. Let us know if you are able to come, and if so, what time would work best for you. Lauren will post more specific info on where to meet at the park after she has a chance to scope it out! Yay!

Thanks! I just hope no one thinks I'm trying to be bossy or take over the site (that's certainly NOT my intention), but I AM an organizer and VERY detailed oriented (I'm an auditor, so it's my nature to audit everything and be very attune to detail). Sukoshi and I had such a great time with you, Misty, and Janelle yesterday that I'm just sooooooooo excited to meet everyone else!

Lisa - great job on getting things more organized!!! I am looking soooo forward to meeting everyone!!! Also, the point you made about the leashes, I do agree that it is safer for our first meeting in a public place. I am going to drive past, scout entry, parking lot cross street, etc, and then do a very detailed Google Earth overlay with an exact meeting point that I will draw directly onto the map with my "snipping tool" (Tablet PC Pen). How was the fair in Pomona by the way? Wish I had been there. I will look for a thread on it.... sure one of you MUST have posted pics.

Yippee! Lauren will be posting details on which parking lot after she has a chance to scope it all out. Never fear...you won't end up stranded and wandering the park alone this time ! I can't wait to see you and Chloe again!

Would everyone be able to meet at 3:00? Lauren did say the later the better for this park since it's so busy in the AM. Or would that interfere with anyone's evening plans?

I would like to go, my only problem might be my daughter's water polo games. We never know when or where they are until about 3 days before. I don't want anyone to make special plans for me because of my schedule, as I might not be able to make it. But I really want to go, and I will go if I can. Yorba Linda is about 20 minutes from me, so that is a good location choice for us. Also that date works for me right now.

3:00 PM will be fine for me. I think actually, that the park will be MUCH quieter then, more parking available, less people. More fun in a safe place for our furbabies to play. I am wide open that day from 12:30 onwards, so whatever time is good for most of y'all, Mango and I will be there. I think doing it at a time that is more suitable for everybody is just great (taking into account swim meets, work, driving, assorted chores, etc) - that way we get to meet more Yorkie Talkers!!! Also, I will be sure to check out the parking lot number. I had no idea they were actually numbered at all. Good that you pointed that out to me. | |
