| Hi all, new member Hi everyone. I just adopted a 7 month old female Yorkie and found this forum as a way of learning more. I live in the IE in yucaipa. If anyone could recommend a good groomer, and any other tips, I'd be thankful. We love our little addition. Her name is McKenzie. Looking forward to good conversations. Rick |

| I will take pics and post soon. We just got her last tuesday, and she was terribly matted, so the groomer wanted to shave her. In hind sight I should have taken her someplace else, but we'll keep up on her brushing to prevent that in the future. IE stands for Inland Empire which is in Southern California. Yucaipa is tucked into the valley of the mountains where Big Bear is, if that helps. We were very lucky to get McKenzie. She was purchased from a breeder in Mo. in Nov. by a coworker, but a pregnancy made her allergic or something so she had to give her away after only a month. Another coworker took McKenzie and kept her for a month until he gave her to me. She has only been with us less than a week but has adjusted so well. She loves my kids and we feel very fortunate to have her. Our only obstacle is potty training which we are working on now. We have some training pads (anyone have opinions on these?) and reward her when she goes outside. Sorry for the long post but we just love her.

| Glad you found us all here at Yorkie Talk, welcome. I look forward to seeing pictures of your McKenzie. We use potty pads. The washable kinds. (Actually they are human baby crib pads) I used to use the disposable ones but have found I like the cloth pads better.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome and congratulations! I use teh Jump Start wee we pads from Petsmart, they are more expensive but Cali was trained very early on them. She is 7 months old too. We have had very few accidents and those were only in the first few weeks. I highly recommend them.
