| Yorkie Breeder in Orange County? Hey, I'm looking to buy a new Yorkie in the beginning of August when I return home from Japan. Does anyone know of a good breeder in the OC? For several weeks I've been looking on Google and other places but no one seems to have any or the breeders are questionable. Any ideas? Thank you! |

| I've contacted nearly every breeder they listed since June and either people don't respond or they don't have any right now. |

| You might have to be put on a waiting list. Since these breeders don't breed in abundance and only breed when they're looking for their next Champion to their breeding program, the secret is patience. Did you can or e-mail?

| Yorkie wanted Yes it is hard to get a Yorkie pup just when you want one, and waiting lists seem to be the norm with AKC breeders. Have you looked on the YTCA site for local breeders? I did that once and called the names on the list, and usually the breeders were helpful and polite. They would even suggest other breeders who might have a litter if they did not. If I remember you were the student who earlier asked advice re. owing a pup in a dorm situation. Looks like you have decided to do so, so good luck with the search and enjoy the pup. |

| Try YTCLA.org. That is how I found the breeder I'm getting my puppy from. |

| I found these today: Pets 4 You - Eden Valley Yorkshire Terriers Website - 70 + Championships to date! Yorkie Puppies California - Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale - Little Diamond The first page seems like the lady knows exactly what she's talking about, but then she says she ships the puppies. Isn't that a sign of someone who doesn't care for the puppies? The second one looks great and they're only 2 hours away. But they don't really give that much info about themselves other than that the females used for breeding are AKC registered. What do you guys think? |

| Not in Orange County, but in Southern California. Not all are listed on the breeder referral list, because they choose not to be. However, most of the breeders listed can turn you on to those that are listed in California.

My question is why are they charging more for the girl than the boy. They are on a spay/nueter contract, correct? Some breeders charge more for girls because of the market demand on them. I figure they are on a spay/nueter so why should I charge more for one than the other. And if I was to sell one for show, sure the girls can breed, but the stud can produce more puppies. Ask about their health gaurantee? My preferance is boys, but, that's me. I love my girls, but oh my boys. Boys seem to be more willing to please, a bit more consistent and gravitate towards the woman of the house. The girls have that hormone thing going on and gravitate towards the man of the house....

| What is "etc." I've never tried to buy a dog before, so the basics I need to ask aren't as clear to me as they are to someone who is experienced like you. |
