| Sorry I can't help. I don't know anyone with yorkies in your area. I was just wondering... Hope you don't mind my asking. Do you have any other children? Yorkies are good with kids usually. They are a little fragile so you just have to be careful that they don't ever get dropped or stepped on. One broken leg can cost you 3k easy! It is such a new experience for me having a small dog. We always had big dogs when the kids were small. Now I wonder how I ever did it without a Yorkie!! It is a bit different because they are small, and require a safe area when left alone. They can hurt themselves if they jump off of something high up. I know how easy it is to fall in love with these cute dogs. They are so smart too! I would suggest looking on line at YTCA.com Yorkshire Terrier Club Association. There are good breeders listed there you can speak with whomever is close to you and see if they have puppies. If you buy from a responsible breeder you will have a health guarantee and know what you are getting. Some breeders provide free grooming and boarding for their dogs. Welcome to yorkie talk. I hope you will be here often to find what ever you or your dog may need!! |

| yes I do have children, my youngest is 7. I had a chihuahu before and had to take her to the vet and was a good $1500. So I do know its pretty expensive but I think is that way with any dog or cat, depending on the injury and what has to be done. I no longer have my chihuaha as she has passed, and I dont want to get another because they are not so good with kids. I got her before I had kids, and just couldnt bear giving her up but I had to monitor her all the time and make sure the kids didnt bug her. As they got older she was able to play with then and be around them. Thank you for the site to look into I will start there. |

| Sorry to hear about your dog. It is always hard to say good bye to a dog you have had for a long time. I guess you know all about kids and a small fragile dog then! I wish you great luck on your quest to find a dog. It is worth it in the end! |

| Hi there ! I live in your area , and have seen many Yorkies up for rehoming on Craigslist lately! I don't know if that would be of interst to you, but there have been there! Go to the fresno Craigslist site, and check it out. I also know of someone who has a 4month old baby. Let me know if you are interested. I have her email.
