| Would anyone is SoCal be willing to puppysit? Hi everyone, I live in LA and I have to go on business to Miami from December 19-26. I can't take Jesse with me as I will be with associates on the flight and at all other times during the trip. The idea of leaving him at a kennel scares me so much. I was wondering if anyone in SoCal might be able to have Jesse stay with them for a week. We could work out financial compensation, and I would be willing to drive him a few hours outside of LA to someone's home. I would greatly appreciate the help. Jesse doesn't like being left alone and the concept of a kennel frightens me beyond belief. Sarah |

| What part of LA do you live? Is he potty trained? Does get along with other dogs? I'm not sure if I'm going to leave for a trip to Big Bear, but I don't mind volunteering. Maybe, I can take him for a few days and another person can take him for a few days.

| Jesse has not had an accident in the house since a week after I got him. He is a year and a half old and very calm and timid. He is a rescue dog, so he is very mild-mannered. I take him outside usually 3 times a day and he always does his business outside. He holds it all night and sleeps through the night on the floor next to my bed. The only time he barks or whines is when he is left all alone. And even then it is not much. He gets along really well with other dogs. His daily routine is as follows. He wakes up along with my alarm. He hangs out giving my and my boyfriend funny faces while we get dressed. We then walk to work together (8 minutes). Jesse does his business. We get to the office and he naps on his blanket next to my desk. Sometime in the afternoon I take him out for a few minutes and he pees. We walk home from work at 6pm. He naps at home throughout the evening and I take him our for 15 minutes or so before bed. He sleeps right through the night. The only thing that might happen, is that he might mark a couple of times. He did when I first got him. I think that is only because the place was newq and he was unsure. I took him out right away and he didn['t do it again. This would be a huge help for me. I've been racking my brain looking for a solution. i don't trust a kennel and bringing him would not work. The hotel my work has booked doesn't even accept dogs, so I don't know what I would do. I have no family in LA. Please let me know. Sarah |

No Longer a Member | I wanted to also offer a bit of caution. Even if your dogs seem "mild mannered" it may be hard to know how they will react with an "stranger" dog in the house. I recently babysat Lisa's (Sukoshi's Mom) yorkie, and she and my Chloe got along great, but I know she had tried to have her stay with another friend and her dogs (who are normally playful and mild mannered, very sweet dogs) got a little territorial. I'm just throwing it out there that it's good to have a trial introduction to make sure they will get along okay. You never know how they are going to react with dogs they don't know. |

| I'm in Tampa and would gladly watch him if there was a way for you to get him here. Maybe you can see if some YTers in the Miami area could help you out if no one in Cali can watch him? Best of luck and let me know if there's any way that i can help!

| Thanks everyone. I've been researching around YT this morning. As always, a wealth of information. I've heard great things about the Petsmart Petshotel. I'm going to check it out tonight. Hopefully it will be promising. I really hate the idea of boarding, but the Petshotel seems like a nice option with 24 hour staff and no cages. It is also reasonably priced. I'm hoping that it will be as nice in person as it seems online and through my phone inquiries. I know that no matter where I leave Jesse, I will worry non-stop and it will put a huge damper on my trip. I hate being away from him even just for a few hours and I worry like crazy that he is okay. The thought of him being sad or feeling abandoned sucks. |

| Hopefully you find a solution. I am in San Diego and I would also not mind watching him while your away. I have another male too but my brother watches him and takes him for walks while I'm working, and another yorkie would be no problem. Toby is never left alone so if your lil one stayed they would be surpervised. Let me know if you still need help.

| Puppysitting If you are still looking for a puppy sitter. I live in San Diego. I have a two year old girl...she is very docile. We live in a gated community so its very safe. My email is FUNNY_YELLOWBIRD@yahoo.com. I am home all day so he will never be left alone. We take are girl to a Yorkie meetup on saturdays but if you want us to keep him in the house we can do that too. Let me know. Frankie. Proud mommy of Peanut |
