| Judy Marksbury and Max...update Hi I am never ever on this forum but I felt like many of you needed an update on Max and his outcome and mine! Max had ingrown eyelashes and has had them removed and is doing fine,He was finally returned to me after months of be treated for dry eye,an incorrect diagnosis.I offered him back to Shelia and Rich and they declined...so he will go to a new pet home in a few weeks.I will tell you the original post caused so much pain for me you cannot believe it.I have had hatefull emails and phone calls and threats,My private info is now on the thread forever and even though I have ask for this thread to be removed ,the forum will not remove it.I hope that people will stop and think before they post and think about what they are about to say because it can cause pain and damage to innocent people. As in my case...I was slandered and made out to be the bad breeder that didn't care... but after the fact the puppy came home to me and and only needed eyelashes removed. Now I have to deal with all the pain it has caused me... it was a horrible experience I want all of you to know I am a Christian,a wife, and grandmother and a caring person. I love my dogs and they are my passion... This experience will not change who I am,nor will it change the way I raise ,show or sell my dogs.Let us all try to treat people like we would want to be treated in the future. | I am so glad that Max is doing well and has had a correct diagnosis. I am so sorry about the pain and hurt you have endured. I really don't read to much in the breeder section for this reason and also for the fact that I am not one.. and have no clue what is what.

| So glad you investigated and found out the problem Max was having, and that he is doing well -- you really went the distance with him and took such good care of him! Also glad he is headed for his forever home

| I had thought things were resolved. Sheila posted the review, based on several things. I'm only going to post about the dry eye. Maxwell was seen by our Vet, on Oct. 1st and she noted immediately that his eye was very dry. She did the Schirmer tear test on Maxwell's left eye, and he was not producing any tears in that eye, and he had a bacterial infection. He was given antibiotics for the infection. He had a 2nd Schirmer tear test on Oct. 8th, and he was still not producing tears. Our Vet consulted with an Ophthalmologist at Purdue in West LaFayette, IN. Maxwell was put on Tacrolimus drops & Puralube, and had his 3rd Schirmer tear test on Nov. 19th, his left eye showed a slight improvement, but his right eye was dry. Yes, Judy and I e-mailed, and I talked with Sheila, and we agreed since we expected her to be in the hospital for surgery, that we would return Maxwell to Judy. And yes, Judy did offer Maxwell back to us, but she also said he had a great new Mom waiting for him, and as much as Sheila wanted Maxwell back, when we found out that the surgeon felt it was in her best interest not to have surgery, but to remain on medication-Sheila did not want to hurt the lady that was so excited about getting him. Judy-you were never slandered. Sheila only posted what we were told by our Vet. As sad as Sheila is about not having Maxwell here with her, she is happy for his new Mom. |

| I forgot to say, that I sent Judy all of Maxwell's medical records, showing the results of the Schirmer tear tests. Rich |

| Judy-I truly don't understand, why, you're bringing all of this up again. You & I exchanged so many e-mails, you said "Let's stop the anger & blaming" and Sheila & I agreed. I brought Max back to you, Dec. 20th, because we expected Sheila to be in the hospital for surgery, and a very long recovery, after. As you know that changed, and the surgeon advised her G.I. Doc it would be safer to keep her on the medication, because she was too high risk for surgery, and it can take some people 3 years to go into remission. On the 22nd, you sent Sheila this e-mail: "Thank you, one more thing you could do for me? But only if you feel you can. I am going to be in New York with a lot of people, and rather than me have to explain everything about Max to breeders that don't know me would you be willing to post something on yorkietalk about Max outcome? It would mean a lot to me since none of what was said the first time turned out to be right. Just say that Max is doing fine and did not have dry eye and is doing fine. Only say what you are ok with am only asking for the truth nothing more. thank you Judy" Sheila asked me to post the update, because she was worried that she might not word it right. And I posted the update & I explained to you in an e-mail, that I asked that the thread be closed, so that no one would bring up the past. You told Sheila that a 13 year customer of yours was taking Max. And you promised Sheila a female, at no extra charge, we assumed it was because we put out $460.00 in Vet bills for Max If you've changed your mind about giving Sheila a female, why not just let us have Max back?-He was with us for 3 months and he adored Sheila & you know Sheila loves him & misses him. You can always give your customer another puppy. Surely, she would understand, and want him to go back to Sheila, where he was happy & he wouldn't go through another adjustment in a new home. Wouldn't it be easier on Max to come back to us, since he bonded to us? You say "Please stop", but we didn't start this up again. We believed this was behind us. Rich |

| Speechless Ok,this will not start up again ,at least from me. I ask for Shelia to post Max outcome, and she did.I wish Shelia would of said more about the fact she said she was sorry she had hurt me. She did say that in one of our emails. The post I put out was my dissatisfaction with regards to it not being removed. The forum did agree to remove my address and phone number to prevent further hate mail and calls.I have been so hurt by it still being out there with phone calls and emails from total strangers!!!!. It was also to let everyone know how things can get so out of control with all the horrible remarks made. I am just appalled that the entire thread ever started and you closed it down because it was out of control! You even said on your last post Ok things have gotten out of hand .Lets all learn from this and not do it again, thats all I am saying. If you have anything you need to say to me please do it via private email. I will not respond to this kind of stuff again. I didn't post this thread to hurt you ,only to state my feelings and truths about was has happened since then. This is NOT about you...... |

I'm confused - is Max actually in his new home yet, or is he still available if Sheila and Rich wanted him? If he isn't available, at least it's comforting for them to know that they have a future girl on reserve with you. I hope there can be a positive outcome for all in this situation. I know you've felt hurt, Judy, but I know that Sheila and Rich have also felt very hurt and have experienced loss. This is a tough 2-way street, but I'm sure it can end well for all.

| Max Max has been placed with his new mom at Shelias request. She did not want him back when I ask her .She said she wanted to wait for a tiny girl. I told her then I had no one bred and it would be along time until I had puppies available ,let alone a tiny girl. I have no way of knowing what I will have until they are born. There is no more I can do for these people....... |

You can't buy a puppy, have an issue arise and then ask for something different than the contract stipulates. Through this whole situation, Judy asked for vet records and also wanted max to see a specialist...neither of which happened until much later. A thread was posted on YT and Judy had never even gotten vet records at that point. How would one expect her to take an action without any proof of the condition? People lie all the time...I don't know personally know Sheila, as most of us on YT do not...I'm not saying she would lie. I'm just saying people do. I've heard of many stories from different breeders about pet owners lieing to them. Judy needed proof and it wasnt provided until after that thread was posted. I'm glad max has been properly diagnosed finally and is in a good home. I won't comment on what I would personally do so far as a replacement puppy....I'll let Judy and Sheila work that one out.

| Max new home I do need to correct 1 thing I said in my first post. I said Max will go to his new home in a few weeks. That was not correct ,the new owner contacted me months ago about a puppy .She is a repeat client that bought her first dog from me 15 years ago, She was wanting a new puppy as her baby had passed away at age 14 years.I told her of Max and his situation, I said I would have to wait until he was treated for his eye problem and if Shelia did not want him back she could have him. She is a wonderful lady and I know her very well. I contacted Shelia and Rich ,they declined Max. So I told her she could have him. She has come from visits to get to know him several times so Max would get to know her, because he had been moved around from home back to home That was weeks ago. She picked him up Sunday and he is doing great, She is home all the time due to physical disabilities.I should of read my post all the way thru for errors...sorry |
