Another dog we had had never been kenneled I saw yhe issues firat hand of that too.

To me kenneling is useful for training , safety and creating their own den area.

Although Princess runs to her kennel everytime she's naughty and gives me the I touched base look!

WHOOPS! How did I miss the word except there?
It's still hard for me to close the door on Joey's, but I wish I had been stricter when he was young. We have an open door policy, but that doesn’t help when I need to keep him confined.

Lol, Princess sounds so adorable!

I think I am understanding that she does NOT let the ones in heat run free around the house with the others. Female dogs are called "bitches" for a reason!!! You get a herd of them running together, and you had better be watching closely because someone WILL cop an attitude, (not "if" but "when"), there will be sassy talk back and forth between a couple of them, and the next thing you know, you have a bar room brawl, and whoever is getting the worse of it, the one that goes down first, THAT poor unfortunate soul will be jumped by all the others and she will be seriously injured or killed. I allow my girls to all play outside, but I can tell you, I know who starts trouble and these girls must be kept separate or they will do much harm...and God forbid if one is about to come into season........might as well set up chairs and sell tickets, because you WILL be having horrendous dog fight......If you DARE to run all these dogs together, you can not take your eyes off them for a second, and you would do well to keep them in small manageable groups that get along. Mine are broken up into groups of 3 and 4.....and Alphas must be with someone that accepts her alpha status and is no challenge or Alpha must be playing alone, with me or my son. I usually work the Alphas in the playground...that expends that pent up anxiety and helps keep them on a more even keel. Dont know if that is right or wrong, but it has served me well. But, I was astonished to hear about breeders that let everyone run together, males, females, in heat or not, then all the babies are supposedly DNA'd.....I always wonder about the male and female that tie, and then before they break apart, each wants to go their own way...someone is going to be injured! If for NO other reason, I have spent toooooo much for my dogs to allow such unnecessary injuries. Like most breeders, I put my pair together, and after they tie, I pick them up and hold them, and we relax, and sit and rock, calmly, making this as much a pleasant experience as possible...I want those little embryos to be happy from the very beginning!!!!!!
I agree, right now I don't have a stud, and only ONE breeding girl, I don't believe in tons of breeding pairs and dogs running loose, how can you keep track? that reminds me of the beagle breeder across from me,i see them tied again and again in his yard, he sells them to a broker, so you see moms and sons tied, sisters and dads, you get the idea, oh and he is also AKC register, I guess he just picks a male that is not related to his female and picks him a the dad even tho he is NOT sure who the father is... I can put my hands on fire for the paternity of all my dogs..that wer bred in my home, now my Delilah was Artificially insiminated, so I am waiting for the babies to be born and I will have them DNA quick..LOL, hey a gal have to be sure you know.. I have to say that I had corresponded with Natalie a few times when i first joined here and she seemed a very caring and nurturing person, so I have to say that it did surprised me when i found out.. that she was breeding tinies the way she is..
hugs,

Your words explain it perfectly. I don't agree with it either.

I think it gives Yorkietalk members a false sense of confidence in these breeders, and why would a person have to reach THAT many people? How many dogs are they breeding? Bottom line is I don't think dog breeding should be a "business". I think it's impossible to do what's right for the dogs if it's profit motivated. Too many people refuse to take a dog out of their breeding program that they suspect has a genetic defect and I believe this goes back to the "business" element. This is just my opinion and I realize not everyone shares it.
Gee, there are only 2 featured breeders on YT. I'm Susan Dodge and the other is Deb Sillers. As far as I know we're both very hard working and reputable. Deb has been at this longer than I have and has many champions to her credit, several of which appear regularly in the "Showing" forum. Natalie was a featured breeder until she failed to satisfactorily resolve some complaints. We do go out on the proverbial limb asking for this featured breeder status since we surely will be publicly slammed if we don't live up to the expectations. I only had one litter this year, and one of the three puppies from that litter was purchased by a wonderful person who found me on YT. She was able to check me out by making the acquaintance of other YT members who have my dogs. We were able to work out the geographical distance since I don't sell sight unseen to people I've never met. The other two puppies in the litter went to word-of-mouth referrals. I love my YT advertising as the inquiries I get from it are top notch.

There have been many "Featured breeders" over the years. I'm not speaking specifically about individual breeders; I just think the idea of a featured breeder’s section give new member a false feeling of security. Featured breeders must have a one year health guarantee, but many genetic problems aren't seen in the first year. Featured breeders must also have 1 year of "experience" and have whelped or help whelp two litters. This too seems too little. As I said before, this is my opinion; I just wish that Yorkietalk didn’t have the “featured breeders” section.

Default Natalies Yorkies

I have so much information on Natalie that it is almost scary not only from past puppy buyers but also from personal experience with her. And yes I have two of her dogs here in my home that I love dearly but, I'm one of the lucky ones. Mine are five and four years old and thank heaven healthy but they are dogs she didn't want because they were bigger, one is 6 1/2 pounds and the other is five. I can tell you first hand that the review that was taken from Natalies website was a joke. I've been to her home many times and have seen things with my own eyes. I have also got pictures of a little male that was purchased from Natalie for a healthy price who before he was even five months old was dead. I know this because the young lady who owned him brought him to me to try and help her care for him because Natalie couldn't be bothered. If you'd like to know more or have questions please feel free to send me a private message.
One thing I will say is that anyone who has one of Natalies dogs should seriously concider having a DNA test done to be sure of the parentage.

I don't know you or your breeding but I sneak peeked at your site...

I LOVE your opening statement.

I have no love for "puppy glamour pic" so many 'breeders' use to make sales.

Btw Mason is beautiful.

A few years ago when I first joined YT I got a lot of negative comments over posting a question about how Natalie could be allowed to be a feature breeder here and still breed tiny little girls. I am so thankful that people here were able to see through her and stop supporting this practice.

It took a long time though.

You all shouldn't feel bad about how long it took to see her for what she truely is. Heck I can't tell you how many times I was to her home and even traveled to a show with her. This was all when I first started out in Yorkie's and didn't really know exactly what was right or wrong for the breed. Since that time I have learned alot and must say that if AKC ever required her to do dna on her litters they would pull her registration rights for life. I know for a fact that when a puppy would die she would keep the application and then use it to register another puppy even it it was a little older or in some cases younger so that she could say it was such and such a weight at younger age. That is why I said that anyone who has one of her dogs would be wise to have a DNA test done on them.

Default Natalies Little Yorkies sells sick puppies with genetic problems.

Found another complaint online about her:Natalie's Little Yorkies Complaints, Reviews - False advertising

I also noticed she was Natalies Wee Yorkies when I purchased from her and now she's Natalies Little Yorkies.

Just received an e-mail from Natalie saying she's contacting her attorney about the slander I put on the internet about her. I e-mailed back that it's only slander if it's NOT true. EVERY SINGLE WORD I typed in my complaint about dealing with her is 100% accurate.

I will also say she never expressed her condolences or apologized when I told her my little girl passed away and had AAI (she never even mentioned she'd had a puppy that had this before, I found that information searching online). My little girl only lived as long as she did by the grace of God and my care for her.
