| Mini Schnauzer or Mini Dachsund Breeders?? My brother is looking for a puppy from a breeder and is considering the Mini Schnauzer or the Mini Dachsund....I know, not a yorkie , but I still want him to find a good breeder for his new puppy. Anyone know of any breeders of these dogs near the NY area or at least within a 3 or 4 hour drive? Thanks for your advice.

Did your brother find a breeder? I have a relative in Manhattan looking for one as well.

No, we hasn't found a breeder yet...we are still looking. We want to make sure that the breeder is legit and not a puppymill or a broker. Thanks MY OSCAR for the information....I will pass it along to him tonight.

| Hi Lee, Thanks for the photo of Trixie. I'll answer your email--trying to complete the move this weekend. For your brother, it's always safest to look up the breeder directories for the respective national breed clubs. Yeah, I don't belong to YTCA either. Some of us have our reasons to want to be independent of breed clubs, but they're still the safest place to begin a search. Their members will refer you to reputable non-members as well. If you do come across a breeder who says all the right things on a web site, whether or not a breed club member, get references from customers, breeders and vet. Good luck.

Dont discount a breeder just because they do not belong to YTCA. | |
