I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | She has a lot of dogs for someone who isn't showing. I believe she has 9 breeding females. Why is she breeding, just to produce more pets? Does she do health testing, what type of guarantee does she have? Some of her breeding dogs are very poor examples of the breed, this is just my opinion. I wouldn’t feel good buying a dog from her; I do not believe she’s trying to “improve” the breed.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I haven't heard of her but wouldn't buy a yorkie from her. Most of the dams look soft coated, and seeing what's (who's) behind her dogs, I understand why. There a couple of good names there, but one other is noted for tiny, soft coated dogs.

| What does "soft coated" mean? I've never heard a yorkie described as such.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | It means cotton coated, not silky. While this is fine for pets, a breeder should not be breeding them without a darn good reason. For example, everything else on the dog was perfect! Cotton coated Yorkies are beautiful, this isn't about looks, they are a grooming nightmare and will mat horribly, if you don't pay special attention every day.

| I do know her personally. She doesn't have very many dogs and they live in her house with her and are very well taken care of and loved. Joann is a very good person and a good breeder.

| Website does not offer any real information (also has many misspellings). Purchased some of her breeding stock from a breeder who breeds for "True Teacup Yorkies." Yorkshire Terrier Breeder Yorkie Dog Breeder Yorkies That alone, IMHO, is enough to make me say DON'T PURCHASE FROM THIS BREEDER.

| I know Jo Ann personally so I believe I can speak on this subject.. I bought a female from her in 2009, and a male in 2011, they are both absolutely beautiful. Might I add their coats are very nice. I CHOOSE to keep them cut short because it is easier as they are very active outside. Her puppies are the standard which is between 4-7 lbs, AKC standard. She is a registered breeder through AKC. I have been to her house, it is very clean, the cute dog room, puppy room and play area is cleaner than my house and I have 3 kids!! I have kept in close contact with Jo Ann since I bought my Bella from her 4 yrs ago and she has always been there with any questions I have had about Bella and the breed in general. That is why I went back last year and bought Bleu. If you truly want to know about a breeder contact the breeder and ask to speak with people who have bought a puppy from them. Any good breeder will give you references. That way you are getting an HONEST story and an HONEST opinion from someone who has dealt with them instead of people who make snap judgements from a picture or malicious hearsay.... I dealt with 6 or 7 breeders before I bought my baby from Jo Ann, and I found a breeder I trust. That is why I still take my babies to Jo Ann's for babysitting or to just let them play with her babies. I hope this was helpful and if you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer them about Jo Ann please feel free to message me. Have a beautiful day : ) |

Perhaps you should, as a disclaimer, also mention that you do business dealings with Joann? When I first posted my opinion to the OP I did not know that you "Natalie's Yorkies"=nlappegard WAS "Natalies Yorkies." I discovered that only by going to your website and seeing your email address that you were "Natalie's Yorkies". On your website you clearly state that you breed for "true teacup" yorkies, JoAnn's Yorkies breeds females she purchased or received from you a breeder of "true teacup" Yorkies...therefore I stand by my opinion I WOULD NOT PURCHASE YORKIES FROM JOANN'S Yorkies; additionally, I would not purchase Yorkies from you.

| My Sapphire came from Natalie's Yorkies. I couldn't be happier with her, she is an absolute doll and has stolen my heart! ( She is the Yorkie in my avatar.) No health issues to date and she is 5 years old. I would check out JoAnn's Yorkies on Natalie's recommendation and decide for myself. But that's just me and IMHO.
