| Beware of Johnny's Pet in Texas Beware of Johnny's Pets in Texas. Our "little" girl was suppose to be no more than 5 lbs when she was full grown. Now at 7 months old she is 8.5 lbs. And no she is not over weight as the breeder suggest. According to our Vet. for her height and length she is just were she should be. So if you are looking for a good breeder do not go to Johnny's Pets online. Of course we no longer care how big she gets because she is our love and joy. But I do hate being lied to and taken advantage of. Just wanted to warn anyone else out there that might be looking. |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | first off welcome to YT...glad you found us... also size should never be guaranteed.....even those that know their line like the back of their hand will not guarantee the size of their puppies...they can give an estimate but then other factor can affect weight....can't wait to see pictures of your baby!

I hope that anyone looking for a Yorkie will realize that should be a red flag if you have a breeder guaranteeing weight!

| Couldn't' agree more! Weight & color are the two hardest to predict.

| Reply I just call them as I see them! Sometimes people need to hear the truth without coating it with suger. I do appreciate the fact that you do see things differently. Thanks for the comment... |

Ouch! That's quite a first post. Affiliated with the business perhaps? Unfortunately, there are a lot of greeders and petshops that will tell you their dogs will only be so big, when they really have no clue. The size of the dog will end up being determined by genetics, and the size of all the pups at least 3 generations back will give you a rough idea. But even that can be misleading- as any dog can throw a larger or smaller than normal pup. I believe people are inherently trusting when it comes to certain things. We want to believe that people will tell us the truth. That's no excuse for not doing your research. To paraphrase Ronald Regan- trust, but verify. To the OP- Welcome to YT. I'm glad you will love your little girl no matter what size she is. I've got a bigger boy that I love to pieces. I tried to look for Johnny's Pets online, but couldn't find a website. Did you do your purchase straight from a site, or did you go to the breeders home?

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Just realized that this is a nearly 6 month old post that was dragged back up. And now, there are disappearing posts. Always gotta wonder why that happens...

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Breeders can give an "estimate" on a pups adult size but thats all it is unfortunately. Its all genetics I myself bought a girl that turned out alot bigger than a breeder said but I still think she is a good breeder |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I saw yours and I didn't think there was anything inappropriate about it either. You were very nice, IMO.
