| Yummy Yorkies in Old Forge, PA I bought my Biewer from Anissa Fedrick Salerno and I should have known! I thought she and her husband were trying to make things easier on us by meeting us half-way from their house. She said that she would send us my puppy's papers (from Germany) in 2 weeks. One year and a half later, no papers. I never even got an excuse as to why she never sent the documents. She wouldn't answer phone calls or emails-and I was a pest about calling and emailing. Not for the papers really, but out of principle. Good thing I wasn't looking to breed my boy! I think that's why those papers would be important. I asked her when I bought my pup if she would have another one up for adoption soon because I may want to adopt another one. She said that she would not. That that was her first time breeding Biewers and it had turned out to be too much work for her (with a job and children), so she wouldn't be doing it again. Guess what, she lied! She is still breeding them and selling them. Some people are really something. I'm crazy about my baby-boy Nicky and I don't regret adopting him without papers, but I would stay away from that woman. All she had to do was tell me the truth, it wouldn't have mattered to me. |

| I'm sorry you had a bad experience. But red flags should go off when anyone says they need to get papers from out of country. Or the parents are out of country. Or sending payment to another country. Anything where they use it as an excuse to hide something from you. Hopefully your story will help someone else.

I had to neuter my baby, or pay a higher price if I wasn't adopting 'pet only.' It was an additional $350 for the documents in my situation and that was supposed to be included in the price I paid. My goal then, was to see my baby before I got him (I was not going to give her the money if my baby look sick, injured, etc.), I didn't want my baby alone on a plane for hours and if something went wrong, I would have better recourse here in the US to hunt her down. The way I look at it, bottom line, I got what I wanted. If I had wanted to breed him, or if for some reason those documents were important to me, it would have been another story. I know where she lives, works and does business. I would have probably, most likely (knowing me), been a nightmare for the woman. But, I focused all of my energy towards making sure my babies were happy and healthy. I just wished she hadn't had to lied to me, whatever her reasons. If she would've said to me "no papers, they cost too much and what's the point? You're not going to breed him" I would have told her that the papers didn't matter. So sad. I envy the relationship some adoptive parents nurture with their baby's breeder and continue to adopt through them because of the trust those breeders foster in them. Not my case . I think this woman should not be breeding because she has very young children and works loooong hours outside her home ( my vet says that they have a pizza place--you know the time having your own business demands). So what time does she have for the puppies? When we met them, my husband said that her husband struck him as an alcoholic. Probably because of all this, it took Nicky some time to trust me and when I first got him, he ate poop. Our vet says that Nicky may have not been used to individual attention and may have learned to eat poop from mom---mom does this if no one else does in an effort to keep the place clean for her pups. Where was the breeder? Nicky is fine now and he could do no wrong in my eyes, he's perfect.
