Please keep us informed about your little guy! I pray he continues to improve. I went through a similar situation last year, but our baby didn't make it. PLEASE report this breeder to the AKC, BBB and anyone else you can think of!
Your little guy is lucky to have you and your fiance.

This is the thing I find most disturbing, under their "Warranty" section:

Are we a “PUPPY MILL”
First there is not such term as “PUPPY MILL” there are substandard kennels.

Are ya dumb??? Then again, I guess we should expect this kind of comment from...a puppy mill!

Interestingly, that whole page wasn't even there when I bought my puppy from her. I wonder if they added it because of the fuss my fiance and I made.
Luckily though, Paxton's doing great. He's a sweet little guy and the vet says he's very healthy now.
Granny puppies did tell us he'd only be 7 lbs though, and he's already 6lbs at 18 weeks, but that's so minor now... I'm just happy he's such a playful puppy.

I have never bought a puppy from the Van Dusen's, but I do know a little about them. Yes, they are a puppy mill. I have heard that facilities are disgusting and house the dogs in a kennel they made out of an old mobile home. Their puppies are so dirty and they smell so bad that it makes you gag. They clean the place up for inspections, and they always pass here in Arkansas. Unfortunately, in this state the animal abuse laws are very lax and many puppy mills are legal. Vets also have to sign a health certificate before shipping the puppy, even with them knowing it's a puppy mill. I believe that this law is awful and something needs to be done about it. I know that many back-yard-breeders and puppy mills will bring in sick puppies for health certificates. The puppies fail the test, but the breeder will usually keep bringing the dog back until it passes and still sell it without informing the new buyer. I will only buy from a reputable breeder that will allow me on the premises to view the housing of all dogs and their puppies, because I too am a victim of buying a puppy from a puppy mill. It's sad that so many so-called 'breeders' can get away with this. Most cases against them never hold up in court here. I'm sorry to hear that you went through all of this, but I'm glad to hear your puppy is doing better.

This is terrible.....I couldn't help but check the address in Live Search Maps and it sure looks like a puppymill from the pictures....the map indicated the address to be the house on the right with the pool but by the looks of it my guess would be it's the house on the left with all the outshacks....what a shame if it is.....I'm not sure if this link will work but you can go to the Live Search Maps and check it yourself if it doesn't work....

Web browser and Live Maps are incompatible

Wow! We looked up our address too. It was really cool looking at it. Anyway, that person is definitely a puppymill.

LOL...I remember one time looking up someone's address and posting it and getting alot of crap for it. I think I was even threatened to be sued, LOL. And I didn't even go as far as posting an ariel of their house. Well at least I'm know I'm not the only one.

I got my first Yorkie puppy a last week. My fiance bought him as a surprise for me. He had been searching around online while on a business trip, and found "Granny Puppies" on a list of akc breeders.
Maltepoo, Puggle Designer Dog Breeder, Sales| Granny Puppies
He ordered him on Monday, and on Tuesday took me to the airport and surprised me with him. I was thrilled to say the least. I've wanted a Yorkie forever, and now I had an adorable sweet little guy.
We noticed as soon as we got home that he was kind of lathargic and refused to eat, but we credited that to the stress of flying. We made an appointment to go to the vet the next day.
We took him to the vet, and he said that the puppy had kennel cough, an ear infection, an eye infection and a stomach virus. He pumped the little guy full of antibiotics, and sends me home with medicine to give him twice a day, as well as some food he thinks the puppy will eat.
That night, after force feeding him, he throws up, so we take him back to the vet. The vet checks him into the boarding hospital and puts him on an IV.
Paxton is there for two days. When we take him home, the vet says he's fine, but he's still not eating. I spent the weekend forcefeeding him, and when I'm not force feeding him, he's dead asleep. He doesn't act like a puppy at all. He has no interest in toys, or exploring, or doing anything except curling up and sleeping.
I decide I've had enough, so I make an appointment for bright and early Monday. The vet decides that it's not a stomach virus, but has no clue what it is, so he xrays him. He says further tests are needed to determine what's wrong with him.
My fiance decides to take him to another vet that day. The second vet takes a blood test and discovers that his white blood cell count is way too high. They investigate further, and find out he has a parasite. His treatment is $1400.
As of right now, he is still at the vet. He's been improving luckily. They told us if we hadn't brought him in that night, he probably would have died.
The breeder- "Granny Puppies" had been continuely informed of what had been happening with the puppy. She said to send it back and she'll send a new one. That was her only answer through all of this. She even claimed it wasn't her fault the puppy was unhealthy, or that his condition got so bad. She took absolutely no responsiblity for selling us an unhealthy puppy. The puppy came to us sick, yet she doesn't feel that she owes us reinbursment for all the heartache and vets bills ($2,000...so far). Even her warrenty is worded so that she has no responsibly for the puppy, leading to me to believe this has happened before.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WOMAN. Paxton hasn't been around any dogs since he got here, so he had to have gotten the parasite from her kennel, so all her puppies probably have it. Plus he was sick from the minute he arrived.
I really wish my fiance had just paid more, and gotten a puppy locally, from a place we could visit before we bought. But at least we managed to save a puppy from dying at the hands of this woman, even if she did profit from it.
is this puppy mill still open? anybody know?
