Oh and she was sold on open registration. I can understand if a breeder wants to take a dog back unspayed to make sure her vet can confirm whatever alments. But she didnt even say thats what she wanted to do. She said she wanted her returned UNSPAYED and that it would be easy to resell her because she is CH sired. I have this all in the emails....

Like I said, I have nothing to gain from this, so why would I make this up?

why would she place a tiny girl on full registration? without the best interest of the puppy at heart. i would be worried about it as well.

Well I usually avoid these threads, but I just must speak up here. I got both of my girls from Dawn. As people on here know, I brag a LOT about my girls and how wonderful they are. If I ever get another Yorkie I will definately contact Dawn first.

My girls do not have LP, neither one of them. Kalina has "maybe a .5 in one knee" according to my Vet and, as he says, that's ridiculous to even think about. He said Matty's knees are incredibly tight and perfect.

All that being said, my Yorkies are also incredibly healthy in other ways. I haven't had problems with either one of them. Not only that, but they are beautiful. I think Dawn is a wonderful, caring breeder. I have spent MANY MANY hours on the phone with her just talking about our dogs, and about showing, etc. She always finds time for me.

I don't know if Dawn is a member of YT or not, but I hope she isn't hurt by this. I know she'll continue to be the wonderful breeder and friend that she is now.

well said. I feel are the same. I realize that there can always be a problem with toy breed but we know how Dawn talks and she might say this can happen but she is trying to reassure you that it is nothing you did to cause it. Not trying to get out of taking care of a problem. I am like you Sookie I like her and would purchase off of her again if I wanted different line then my own.

I am sure there are some good experiences with her, i am not saying all her dogs have LP or all the dogs she produces with LP. Please dont assume thats what I am saying. I have the emails, I can proove how "caring" she was.

My whole point here, if she is such a reputable breeder, why would she tell me and others its ok to have LP and breed them with it? She basically tried to convince me this was ok and was nothing to worry about. I am sorry but LP is nothing to just dismiss as minor just because so many other yorkies have it.

This is all, I dont need to argue, if you want to comment how great she is please make another post and create a review post on your experiences.

Most threads have responses of both types - pro and con. It's an open discussion.

I was also wondering, if you don't mind telling me, when you got your dog from her?

The thread says by yoursotino that she replaces puppies~

My question is what constituted her to have to replace puppies?

I have never had to replace a puppy mostly because I have a very good female with on problem and a excellent male. The only reason I responded to this thread was because the first person saying all the horrible thing about Dawn didint seem to be telling the whole stoy As we questioned this more info came out like not all of Dawn have LP I dont know of any of her dogs who have LP.] but if something happen to one of the dogs sold by me and it had a genetic problem that was going to be fatal or very costly I would replace the puppy. I am not a Kennel I breed to show. Again this where this site is only being used to slam and try a

well this is how i feel about a year and a half ago i bought a show girl from a show breeder and at 8 months she ended up with lp grade 4
the breeder and i workied it out i did not come on here and bash or even reviel who she came from things do happen and it is up to the breeder and client to work it out even the most careful breeders who test and spend hundreds with there vet can have a problem arise

i feel for both but mostly for the pup i would always agree to replace or refund with the correct paper work and my vet agreeing to the findings was it hard to give this girl back you bet ya i cried for days but somethings can be un for seen

and i would hate to think that if i had one mishap happen that i could be ruined for ever not all are honest with even the back ground just because someone may tell you all gentics in the back ground are clean well not all is as always seen and there are many show breeders that have had mishaps but they do not come on to a public forum to be beat up when none really know both sides i am not walking in either's shoes
i can only walk in my own

Default I agree

That is how it should be good for you sorry to here about your loss I know that would be hard to have to give one up after you had that long I would die if I had to give up my little man for some reason. I think when people are on here they can talk about the experiences but they should put peoples names If someone wants to know have them call or you or PM There are always two sides to things and when you are the injured party you usually dont tell the other side

I can only imagine how hard it is to give back a puppy that you have come to love. However, if you are starting or already have a breeding program you sometimes might have to make that decision.

I certainly understand the OP's concerns, believe me. I had a Chihuahua with grade 4 LP and it was painful to just watch him walk. His heart was so bad that I couldn't have surgery done on him either. He actually lived to a very old age. I got him from a breeder, but I just couldn't give him back. Anyway, I was not interested in breeding so that part didn't matter.

I groom 2 dogs from her and they are both wonderful examples of the breed and are both sound.
