| Does any one know this breeder? Hello I have a friend who is thinking about buying a 34 week old female akc regd yorkie, she is based in Oklahoma, her name or Kennel name is something like Cowboy company? She is right on the texas border I guess, with all these scammers out there we just want to know if any one knows her, oh yes I guess she also breeds collies. ty

| well i know the ladys name is sharon, my friend won't tell me any more, jsut what i told you....to me it sounds fishy, for example this female is from champion bloodlines, but she got the pup for breeding rights for a few hundred dollars? just sounded fishy to me, and she was saying that this pup has had several blood lows and that the breeder gives her nutrical everytime she goes out to play...is that normal> my yorkies don't need that after they have played/// sorry i can't be any more help, i tried to tell her to find out more information, but she thinks she knows best,,,etc. I'm just trying to help...

| Oklahoma is one of the big puppymill states so I would be very wary of this breeder. Have your friend check the USDA breeders list (aka the puppymill list) and the Better Business Bureau. http://www.prisonersofgreed.org/ListA2006.pdf |

| You're not being cruel at all...you have right to refuse her 100%. Studding out your male dog is a huge responsibility, and you need to do a lot of research before even considering this. I know both dogs need to be tested for STDs and liver shunt and a whole bunch of other things...I hope some of the breeders on here see this so they can offer advice.

| see I am very careful where my yorkies go, the grounds they touch, I do tons of testing, and etc, everything I can to make sure my yorkies are the best health they can be, I am even taking an asst vet course, and a groomers course just so I can know more, i guess i sound pretty annal, but I do not want my male mating with an unknown female......staph infections and numerous other things he can catch, hurt him, and then spread it to my 2 females, I can not do that...... And now my friend has decided she is going to be a big Time breeder, and get a yorkie( she already has one) no clue, about breeding etc.....I'm frustrated, she has done no research or nothing....sorry to ramble guys!

Too bad the bottom has dropped out of the yorkie market. They are in the paper here today for $250.00 All you can do is try to educate her. |
