| C/Sections?? I know there's several things that factor in, but as a breeder, what is the max amount of c/sections that you would let your girl have before spaying? This is based on her being able to free whelp along with having to have a c/section because of a puppy being sideways, etc. I've heard different opinions from breeders and vets and would also like the opinions of the breeders on this thread. Thanks for your expertise. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Well for me, personaly...I started out breeding Chi's. She had a c section and has not been bred since. I'm just too scared to risk her having another since she had complications while under. I've since had a Yorkie have one, and I'm giving her a year + rest and then trying it one more time. If she needs another section (which would make 2 sections) then she will be spayed. Her 1st litter was a free whelp, her 2nd litter was 2 pups, one pup natural and the 2nd pup was a c section. She was just to tired to get her out on her own. So depending on if it was a healthy c section or not, I'd try one time after the 1st c section. But thats just me. | Thanks Breny and Mardelin. That's what the consensus was with the breeders. The vets had other opinions. |

| I guess we as breeders have to do what's is the best for our girls....Now a vet may have an alterer motive....."C-Section/money". Don't get me wrong...I love my vet and he is not about money, but the love of taking care of animals. However, let's face it Vetinarians run a business.

I truly appreciate your expertise. You always have very informative posts! Edited to say that I miss quoted the price of the c/section. It's approx. $250. including oxy shot and antibiotics. Last edited by char7; 10-09-2007 at 01:44 PM. | |

| I don't live in the Burbs of Ft. Worth. I live real close to the coast. Not too far from TXShopper73, Kim, on here. |
