Donating YT 14K Club Member | I would have poked her eyes out! There is a breeder here in town who has 2 litter due next week. One on the 28th..Tinkerbell, and the other on the 29th Blondie. Well, Tinkerbell who normally weighs 5 1/2 lbs went into labor last night and gave birth to 7 puppies! Anyway, she called me today and told me that she had lost 5 puppies. They had varied so much in size. One was about the length of her thumb. She called her stud breeder to tell her what had happened and this breeder told her, "Well, it's because you are inexperienced! If I would have been there, I could have saved them all!!!!" Poor Charlie was SO upset she was crying. I think that she called me just to have someone to talk to. Mind you, I've never met the woman face to face, just had talked to her a couple of times over the past 3 months. How can some people be so insensitive? Does this other breeder think that she could have saved the one that was not bigger than your thumb????? I tell you, Charlie doesn't want to use her stud dog anymore. She has been breeding for 5+ years. True, it's still all new, but in this case, I don't think that all of the pups could have been saved. I think that the mom just had too many in there. But, the momma is okay. I'm even mad at that other breeder.

| Breeder People can be so mean. You friend had enough heartache without this breeder adding to it. With so many pups, some no doubt very undernurished with no growing room...only God knows, not the stud dog owner. Remember, the Yorkie Wheel will spin again and again, it will land on "Miss Perfect Breeders" name..always does... |

| wow it never ceases to amaze me how rude some people can be. Perhaps the stud breeder was reacting thinking your friend was going to blame her for the death of the babies, still no excuse! Even to the most competent breeders comes heart ache. I am so sorry for her loss, thank god two of them made it!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Charlie had told me that they breed Tinkerbell once a day for 7 days...I guess that she take more than others??? Anyway, maybe this is why she produces such large litters. I think...IMO...that if she was only bred for 3-4 days that her litters might be smaller and she wouldn't have this problem. With the stud dog breeder, breeding for 30+ years, you think that she might know this?

| I only had two ties, the breeder wanted three, (every other day) but I was told then you run the risk of some babies being born too premature. I suppose we would have had more puppies, but I am just happy with three healthy ones. I am sorry to hear what your friend went through, you would think someone with that much experience would have more compasion for her. I am glad that she has two healthy pups though. |

| breeding Your friend is buying a service and should tell the breed how many times to breed....the breeder sounds like she has learned little her 30 yrs. There is no need to breed that many times..totally unnecessary. The sperm can live for 3 to 4 days, breeding day in and day out for a week is not what a knowledgable breeder should do. Two to three breedings is enough. You can breed 2 days and skip or every other day. If you have a female who has missed, then I would try 3 breeding a day apart...that is a span of 6 days. I have bred a female once on the 12th day and had 6 pups..3 times and had 1 pup. Some people ask me to breed 3 times so they can have 3 pups..and when they got 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 they would question me. If such a long spacing the larger pups were probably 5 to 7 days older then the tiny thumb size baby. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I just got off of the phone with Charlie. She told me that she lost one of the pups and has a little boy left. She took him to the vet and the vet told her that he probably wouldn't make it either. He also told her that there were just too many puppies in the litter and they are underdeveloped. The boy that is left she said is the size of her pinkie finger. I guess that her and the breeder got into it again this morning with the breeder telling her that with 5 years of breeding, she didn't know anything. It is sad to see a friendship go down the drain over this. She thinks that the breeder is mad because the only way that she does stud service if for pick of the litter and she wanted a girl out of the deal. She turns around and sells her picks and that is how she gets her money.

| pup I don't like pick of the litter deals.unless it is someone I know very well, they can sell your pup to anyone with the money. The pups could wind up in a mill for all you know..tell your friend to buy stud service or go somewhere else..a pup back is a very high price to pay for a stud..she could get champion service. |

| This situation is exactly why a female owner cannot promise the stud owner a puppy. There are many people who count on those girls to sell for a much larger price than a stud fee would cost. Your friend has learned a heartbreaking lesson and will grow and learn from this experience. The stud owner, on the other hand, will never learn. I would suggest your friend find another stud in the future. This loss is hard to bear and your friend is sad. Why kick her while she is down? Hateful old hag!!!!!!!!!! |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Charlie took the last pup that had died to the stud breeder. After the stud breeder saw how little he was, she finally realized what Charlie had been dealing with. All is well between them...YEAH! I hate to see people loose friendships on stuff like this. As of last night, she still had one male left but she didn't think he would make it either. I told her that he might just surprise her.
