No, food does not come out of his nose and I don't hear any raspy sound. Do I do that when he is eating? Otherwise no.

He seems to just not be interested and curls up beside her and goes to sleep or he starts suckling and then falls asleep after a few seconds.

No, it does not seem to be doing that. He is crawling around in my hair right now trying to get comfortable. I am going to head home for lunch and to feed him again. Plus so Tinkerbell and do what she needs to with him. Ewwww.

Thank you for helping me with this. I hope this information helps.

Sheesh, that is ALL good news. Every symptom I asked you about is bad news. Sometimes the tiny ones are underdeveloped on the inside. I will continue to check back on your little man. I pray all goes well. You are doing a fantastic job! It is a lot of work and sure makes you respect the little Mamma's a LOT more! Keep up the good work

Sharon,
I just wanted to say that I think you are doing a wonderful job with this little one. I know how much you love him and your love shows thru in your posts. I will continue praying for him.

So do you think that this little guy is going to live or should I really start preparing myself. I have been dening it. I checked his weight again when I brought him home and it was the same (3.85 oz) even though I have been feeding him every 2 hours. Good news.....He fed off of Tinkerbell for a few minutes at lunch and Tinkerbell did all the good stuff that she needed to do. Yuck!!! Thank you for the prayers, this little guy needed all that he can get. And yes I respect people so much for breeding yorkies full time and there mothers. Wow, this is a ton of work, but it also has so many perks. I love it when I get little puppy breath and kiss.

I'll tell you the truth...it sounds a lot better than I expected. The first 2 weeks will be "iffy". Three weeks will be wonderful! Keep track of the symptoms I mentioned. If he is a little lazy bones, make sure he moves around and gets stimulated. He needs lots of "pottying" help from Mama....so after you feed him, put him up near her face then lay him down in front of her if she pays attention to him. I am soooooo happy to hear that he nursed from Mamma....that is an improvement . You are right, puppy kisses are the best! I'll keep checking in and praying for your little man

Sharon I hate to that your worry about your little one, how much does he weigh today, if we lived closer I would take him for awhile and let Lexie nurse him since she only had the two, and they are becoming butterballs....did you get a heating pad for them...how much do they all weigh now...

The big ones (Pebbles and BamBam) weigh about 10 oz a peice, butterballs yes. Delilah is about 8oz. and this little guy (Yoda) is 3.8 oz and holding. She is willing to feed him, he is just not wanting to take it. It is just so sad. I am feeding him Esbilac every two hours as much as he can take. I guess that is the best way to put it. How much did your weigh when your was born and now?

Default pup

Do you feed him during the night?
You did look at the roof of his mouth..to the end of his throat with a small pin light (cleft.)..
I would take him in to the vets for tube feeding (no need to pay the vet) by a vet tech several times a day if you do not know how...or learn..best wishes

Jasmine weighed 3.5 at birth and now 7.8 and Chunky Monkey weighed 3.5 at birth and now weighs 8.9...just hang in there girl, he will hopefully start gaining, I know sometimes Lexie would feed Chunky all the time so I had to pull him off and get her away from him on my bed and let her feed Jasmine at first now they are both piglets....

Yes, I feed him during the night. I just keep thinking that the more food the better for this little guy. I even have Tinkerbell lay beside me in bed and place him on her all alone. He eats for about a minute or two and then curls up and falls asleep.

About the cleft palate. The vet said that they were all checked for birth defects and cleft palates. All negative and healthy. I just don't understand about this little guy. He was eating a ton and not gaining any weight and now he is starting to stop eating and I am worried that he is just going to wither away to nothing when he really already is compared to the others.

I will see about getting him to the vet tonight. Thanks

I am happy to see that you have two cute little piglets. I am sure by what the mother looks like that they are going to be beautiful. Too perfect.

I hope that he starts gaining. I am going to keep trying until the fat lady is singing!!!

You are doing all that is possible and he is getting all he needs...some fade and it is heartbreaking, but some of the worst do a turn around..God bless him...
